Sounds echo;
distant...
mundane...
My eyes are aware
but not looking.
No focus.
No sight.
I've stepped out
and no one even knows

I wonder where I went...

Are you an overachiever?

They call us the cool kids.
But they look straight into our eyes with that stare.

That stare.
Smells like jealousy. But sympathy it is.
Please don't sympathize overachievers.

Before I thought of doing it
My neck cradles itself sidewards
A strange glimpse
Stood out with radiance
And I knew it was different

I catch myself looking at you from afar
Your eyes meet mine
Is it just coincidence
Or an accident that happens too often?

Our glances hold messages
Of undefined feelings
Words become fathomless
For our eyes manifest.

Your eyes wandered through the crowd
And mine roamed around
We both know
This is just an excuse, a distraction
Not to seem obvious...
Until they locked
And I swear I won't let this moment pass

Oh, your eyes
Inviting me to see
Bidding me to come closer
Wanting to let me know you deeper.

I'd look at them all day of course;
Because of all the eyes staring
I only care for yours*.

You sit
You stare
You breathe
You wonder
You blink
You imagine
And then,
You realize...

"Amy's eyes are the color
of loneliness
If loneliness were a color"

So they said, but who were they anyway
to judge a girls face

I had thought until the very day
loneliness caught my eyes
and held my  stare

My heart sank and I was apprised
Of the loneliness trapped
in those young girls eyes
Everybody does it.

I could never dream
Without wondering what someone else was dreaming.

I cannot speak
Without hesitating at another's thoughts.

You ask me what I'm afraid of.
Maybe it is
Bullies,
Offenders,
Liars.
Maybe I'm afraid I'm seen that way.
Maybe I'm afraid of what they say,
What they'll do,
What it will mean.
As to my fears escalating,
I'm more convinced
The world is a better place when I hide in my room.
Their opinions will change the world.
I don't want to be changed.
I don't want to be told
Or to be scoffed at.

I fear
         Judgment.
Gapeseed: anything that causes stares
Marco Lacsamana Jul 2014
A little less conversation
is a little less of me
stolen piece by piece
by each word

but it's more of you
in the silence
and exchange of
pregnant glances

it's me walking towards
you and you
standing still
waiting for me

and me waiting for you

Delicious
tasty
I sit and savor
The flavor
of the favor
that was done for me.
you see,
all that will be done
Under one,
Below the others
Deny our mothers
The right
to fight
For everything
For just a fling
Risk your life
for a light
notice the night
and tomorrow
know the sorrow
the pain,
all in vain,
The risks that you tell,
That you unveil
As if it's you God given right,
To scream
To breath the air that we all share!
You sit and stare
Above us all,
Thinking for you
About what got you there.
About the fight
You.
We fight You!
We fight ourselves
