you can tell a lot about someone from their shoes

the well kept,
shiny,
new looking dress shoes.

the unkempt,
raggedy,
hand-me-down tennis shoes.

the classy,
black,
high-heeled stilettos.

the scuffed,
well loved,
well worn work boots.

you pictured a person in each pair didn't you?
isn't it amazing
that given only shoes
we can create a character.
random thoughts.
I put on high-heeled
Ruby shoes
Now I walk the talk
And strut my stuff
With my high-heeled
Ruby shoes

Legs go striding
As opposed to hiding
When I wear my
High-heeled
Ruby shoes

Knock 'em dead
Turn a head
That's the way I feel
In my high-heeled
Ruby shoes

No one's stopping me
From purring
Down a catwalk
When I'm high
On my ruby shoes.

She was gone forever,
Never to return ever,
May her soul rest in peace,
I bade her a last goodbye kiss.
As I entered the door,
Glancing along the floor,
I saw her shoes standing side by side in rows,
Old shoes with broken toes,
Some with holes
through the soles,
Some torn,
Some barely worn.
Each shoe I knew so well,
Each had a story to tell.
Of her hopes,
Searching for new scopes,
Of her broken dreams,
Never to give up,ready with new schemes.
Of her love and strife,
Tears listened my eyes,
With courage she took each tread of life.
Till the end she never accepted defeat. Her shoes told her struggles.

As people we live in a broken world
There is no denying that
And we're looking for something
We're empty and we try to fill ourselves with money and cars and *** and happiness...
If someone is hungry enough they'll try to eat their own shoes
If someone is hungry enough they'll eat their own heart
We’re empty and we try to fill ourselves by giving gifts and cards...
For those who have been forgotten and underappreciated
We’re empty and we try to fill ourselves by drawing silly faces on post-it notes and giving away our hearts...
Waiting on a thank you
A smile
Waiting to be held
To feel like someone cared
But we refuse to accept a touch of love
Would it even satisfy the hunger?
It's not what we need
Maybe we don't even know what we need
Maybe all we need is a friend to sit with us in silence
As it tries to split us in two
Because we know we need something
It’s why we eat our shoes
Even though they are worn and scuffed and covered in muck
We eat our shoes
Anything that will give us a temporary relief
The sensation of chewing
Swallowing
But it's killing us
And we think we're solving the problem but it just makes it worse
Because the silence splits us in two
Drags us further away from the warmth we desire
We try to feel loved
We try to feel important
But people are temporary
They leave, we leave, they leave, we leave
But if we remember one thing about each other
Let it be the day we were born into this broken world
And not the day we leave forevermore
Abandoned in the church
Because we can't find what we are searching for in others
Or their products
What am I hungry for?
Love
Belonging
People can't offer that
They let you down
Even the best people die
And in the end everyone will let you down
Every single time
Because they steal and lie and cheat and whisper things to sculpt our opinions of each other
And Jesus I stopped calling out your name a long time ago
I have to accept you’re gone
And my heart shattered into a million pieces a long time ago
But if they remember one thing about me
Let it be the day I was born into a broken world
And not the day I leave them forevermore
Abandoned in the church
Let them remember the simple days
When I made them laugh
When being my friend was the best choice they ever made
When choosing to keep me was the best choice they ever made
When loving me was the best choice they ever made
In this broken world
Was being my friend the best choice you ever made?
Was choosing to keep me the best choice you ever made?
Was loving me the best choice you ever made?
In this broken world

God embrace me
God I embrace you

Every pair of shoes has a different story
God our journey to your glory
How everyday with children can be a pleasant memory
Heard stories of people, passed on,
Our dignitaries
Their shoes footprints left an example to live life
That's why God your path will always be right

God forgive our sins
God your love wins
God with you life begins
God embrace us please
God I embrace you
God, thank you for our shoes.
Amen.
My upstairs spiraled to her looking glass
in those hand-me-down shoes alight
and would incline on the way down to the street
so this diadem could never faint
yet had swallowed ancient rouses
why he didn't die in a field of clover
with a herd of deer then
as they both arrive just to expose this simplex
that may fold their wonder many times
but her entirely backless suit met consecutively
with spring base was tapestry in a town of such nomad
as fillies were finally exonerated by his demeanor.

Uncle Tom waltzed;
Dressed in a hat and tailcoat,
A cough and a sore throat,
He takes his coffee black.
A soothsayer that sings like a ***;
Bible in hand thumb strum, thump,
His soul hammers out ~
on a cheap plastic drum.

I walked a mile in a dead man’s shoes !

Slow down Tom for the evenings long
And the sun an’t rising any time soon,
There’s not a dry eye in the house;
Just bells and bones and a waitress or two,
Whistling tunes that open doors;
I don’t want to be a wannabee !
but I walked a mile in a dead man’s shoes !

Bought some old style shoes from a charity shop but they didn't fit my feet!, I walked a painful mile in them before dropping them off at another charity shop ! "Tom was written in black ink just inside the heals of the shoes.
