Before I fell in love, I knew it's a facade
A mirage of peace in the restless desert,
A timeless voyage with broken clock
An illusion, an intimidating tempting illusion.

Before I fell in love, I knew I shouldn't,
I knew I shouldn't trust a stranger with my vulnerability
I knew I shouldn't give false hopes of light to my dim eyes
I knew I shouldn't let the ice in my heart melt.

Before I fell in love, I knew love is above all
Before I fell in love, I knew love is as selfless as selfish
Before I fell in love, I knew love is all I needed
Before I fell in love, I knew love worths every breath.

He devoted his whole life
To people he called his friends... his family

He spent his time
His energy
His loving care
To listen and offer guidance

His family
Was perfect
From the outside,
Looking in

But no one ever
Gave a thought
To the pain that he was in

Through all of his struggles
He stood strong
The years had been ******* him for far too long
And he bore his burdens alone, time after time

Not a single friend
To confide

Not a single kin
To offer him wisdom

They were there
But they never cared
As they were always complaining selfishly
Of their petty qualms
To which he listened
Selflessly

It's not that he didn't try
To seek refuge in them
They were too consumed
Basking in their own greed

To hear

His

Cries

For

Help...

They never could see
How broken he was
Until it was too late

They should have
listened...

They should have
cared...

But they simply had no time to spare
This is not necessarily a true story, but simply a warning to care for others as they care for you. Repeated kindness is rarely returned. Be aware. This happens more often than the average person realizes.

They say the sun,
was selfless to a fault,
he died everyday,
to let the moon get,
a glimpse of the world

I weave this poem before sunrise,
barely realizing how quick time flies,
feeling my heart tangled in tender ties,
I think of you when I close my eyes;

in relentless motion, our chaos dance
synchronizing pain and growth by chance
I held my fragile heart for such romance,
you know well to throw me off my stance

but everything I touch, shatters
and everything that hurts, matters
you're the solace and home my soul would seek,
so I would love you from afar, because that's how my heart speak.

Selfish are we,
as they breathe death.
Creeps undetected,
its gluttony is relentless.

Infected by narcissus,
obsessed with “want”.
Devoured and exhausted,
we perish when exposed.

Divided by masks,
one selfless,
the other selfish.
It's your choice.

To be forgiving is the hardest,
But the sweetest gift to the self.

it's our laughter that
bound us;
the moment of camaraderie
new friendship being born
unsure whether this'll be thorn
or storm
and i sat there, torn
unsure where to go from here
a welcoming clasp
palm on palm, fingers
coiled around one another
a peace treaty, a clap of agreement
a silent pact between us
" i gotchu"
a " thank you"
a smile here
a couple more there
am offer for selfless help
and pride in me
pride in you
teamwork.
teamwork,
that forged out friendship
and i thank you
for all your help
all of it.

I was talking about everyone
while she remained quiet
which made me curious and ask her
"why do you look so upset?"

she sighed as she held my hand
as she looked into my eyes and say
"you keep telling me wonderful things you did..
but let me tell you, this is not okay"

"not okay? how so?"
i asked wondering whats wrong
she looked away before saying
"You always we're too strong"

"you never doubted anything, you only loved them
you adored them, no matter what they say or do
but let me ask you, one thing..
have you thought about yourself? like...what about you?"

Shivering under my blanket,
Thinking out loud,
The concept of us,
The concept of you,
The concept of I.

We, look like a sunflower.
Symmetric, bright and warm.
Reaching out to the Sun
And outgrowing along.

You, look like a peyote
Amidst the dreary sands.
Lonely, drained and dull
Searching for its water,
Deeper in its own land.

I, look like a rainy day
Drenching both,
With life, love and hope.
Promising clear skies
And sunny days to cope.

Little did I know,
Peyote needs no rain.
And a sunflower,
Never grows,
From the seeds of peyote,
Such is the pain.

Did the efforts
Of the rain
Just go in vain?

The rains
Still drench,
Selflessly,
Still Searching,
For someone worthy.
Worthy is who?
Not us, not you.
Never us, never you.
