The librarians
Know me better than others
Just by my readings

Because who else knows
I've checked out all the comics
And tons of odd bits
Dedicated to the school librarians, who have seem me check out countless graphic novels, classic science fiction, books on encryption and the NSA, all manners of cookbooks, twelve books on feminism, and fourteen books on the history of rock music.

Handled by grimy hands and filthy souls,
The graven image stares up
But what of this idol, who is it?
Allah, Jesu, or the I Am?

None of the above.

It is the letters that mark the holiest of lands.
Gates swing open,
Reveries and kings and lovers soar above a dried ink altar,
travel across crinkled pages,
and settle themselves firmly inside.

Dreams turned to ink,
and words turned to life.

it felt like a summer day
the sun casting shadows
consuming the world with its yellowy tint

it felt like a pat on the back
from an old friend
reaching up
and smiling wide

that book,
it felt like
a never ending friend.

Twisting tendrils of realization
Run through my evermoving mind

Up unto the age of eighteen
I abhorred alliteration

The seemingly simple
Style showed, I thought

An easy way of writing
Whatever

Just finding fitting words
With meanings matching.

Untill I read The Raven
Poe penned what is

I think, the epitome
Of epic poems

All while writing, in a weirdly
Woven way

A story of love lost
Of wishing gone awry

So since then I sometimes
Try to match "my" master

And in writing wishes
With no reasonable rhyme

I uncover my understanding
Of my own simplistic stupidity

But beside that also, always,
Of how beautiful a language loved
Can be.
Maybe a tad over the top;-)

Appreciate people
for
pronouncing wrong,
They might
be
avid readers.

Appreciate people
for

They might
be
good listeners.
Reading developes vocabulary
Whilst
Listening developes pronunciation and diction...

Empty streets
Two souls
Filled with memories
Of the past
Our past ;
We have walked these streets before
Young and in love
Our entire lives ahead of us.
We knew everything back then
Until time taught us
Doubt everything.
I see these words for the first time
Though they have always been here
Long before my love of words,
I found.

Empty streets
A poetry reading
We have been here before
Why are we here once more ?

if, while on the other side of the world,
you buy me a book
and post it to me
along with the words
'i read this and i thought of you
and i knew you had to read it too'

then what else is left for me to do
except
         to
           fall
               in
                 love
                       with
                              you.
I do write
When I feel
the need to write

Then I don't
when
Don't want to word my thoughts

But then,
My unrelenting thoughts
Keep nudging me
Edging me
Seeking words
Wanting me to write .

Then
Comes my Mind
The repository and Controller
Of all
My senses
Giving a piece of itself to the thoughts

The thoughts bow down
And admit
it was all for fun
Don't get bogged down
You have won

And Then
I am free to decide
As to when to write

*Right to write
Or None
The above piece is again a little conversation between my mind, thoughts and me .

Have been writing for about 8-10 months now.
Have been sharing my thoughts here at HP for the last Six months,
Wrote this last month, when did not share much here.
Writing and reading here ,helps me , it keeps me motivated and yes HP is my happy place.
Thank you all for reading my thoughts.

of all books I read
only your heart I can not fathom
but yours is my favorite
And I'll keep on reading as many times I can

I read to escape
I write to be free

When reading
I am taken to different worlds

When writing
I reveal the problems of mine own

Reading takes me away
Writing keeps me from going astray
