Maryann I Feb 19
It starts with fireworks,
explosions of light
too bright to question,
too dazzling to resist.
Every word is a spark,
every touch a flame
burning so beautifully
you forget the heat can hurt.

They paint the world in colors
you didn’t know you could see,
build castles in the clouds
with promises that taste
too sweet to swallow.
You believe in the fairy tale
because their voice makes it real,
because the story
is what you’ve always wanted to hear.

But the glitter fades,
the echoes grow cold,
and the castle crumbles
when the walls were never meant to stand.
You find yourself
in the ashes of their affection,
trying to piece together
what was real
and what was only a game.

The silence comes next—
a void where their voice once lived.
You wonder if it’s your fault,
if the spark died because
you didn’t burn brightly enough.
But the truth whispers slowly:
it was never your fire they craved,
only the power
of holding the match.
Love Bombing Experience: My ex overwhelmed me with intense affection, expensive gifts, and big promises—talking about marriage early on, showering me with excessive attention, and moving things faster than I was comfortable with. As my first relationship, I didn’t recognize the warning signs. I believed the love was real until my friends helped me see that it was all just a game of control and manipulation. My ex was a gaslighter, twisting my feelings and making me question my own reality. I wish my first experience with love could have been better—something real, healthy, and built on trust rather than deception.
An imitation of verse,
Everything, in reverse.
My wrongs are rights,
Nothing seems clear-
Upon shining the lights.

He laughs at me;
Who claims to have seen all.
Tales I couldn't be,
Under his gazes, they fall.

But he is not here,
Yet resides everywhere.
Anywhere will he hide,
All my unspoken shows, he can confide.

The past is a crime scene.
Your mind, the only witness.
But every time you return,
the bloodstains have moved,
the body is missing,
and the killer looks like you.

guilt is a master forger
Once secret lives now noticed.
No longer illusionary to his mind, His perception, perceived perception.
Untwined from hither to tither, It falters, as truth seeks balance.
No longer does it falter, So long as it fosters The essence which began the thought process.
Syafie R Jan 21
Interfering waves distort the mind,
shattered dreams freeze in their wake—
a chasm deep, sleep’s quiet grave,
where reality bends and breaks.

The ego quivers at the brink,
between the void and waking’s weight,
a struggle fierce, a war with fate—
archetypes stir, reborn to think.
Don’t overthink it folks. Just read and let your mind wander like it’s on vacation. No deep thinking required unless you’re feeling fancy.
Deck of cards,
Pictured scenes,
Pastel backs.

Just have to remember,
In order to play memory,
But no one will remember me.

Every day I look

at the landscape, so unreal --

if one doesn't go there.

Heaven allures us,

a scent of higher honey --

draws us to full height.

Freedom!
I scream for it,
a desperate cry against the expectations that binds me.
I’m suffocated by the facade of relationships,
the hollow cackle of deceitful souls.

I am enraged!
Fuming at the system that seeks to define me,
at the degradation that clings to my skin
like an unwanted shadow,
a constant reminder of my insignificance.

I’m weary of pursuing aspirations
that crumble to dust in my grasp,
unattainable visions that lead me
to the edge of despair.
I yearn to exist without ambition,
to dissolve into a crowd
where my identity vanishes,
where I’m a specter,
unseen, unrecognized,
lost in a realm that remains indifferent.

I long to flee this cursed present,
to leap into a tomorrow
that remains a cruel illusion,
where no one acknowledges my presence,
no one cares,
no one trails my footsteps
or feels the pain of my sorrow.

I am drained—
exhausted from the humiliation
that gnaws at my core,
tired of everything I once held dear,
weary from dreaming
only to fall and fall again.

In this furious pursuit of liberation,
I don’t merely wish to vanish;
I seek to obliterate the chains,
to shatter the delusions,
to discover a place where I can breathe,
where I can be whole,
untethered from the past,
and finally reclaim my reality
with a fury that cannot be contained.
This poem is to all those individuals struggling to live their dream due to the expectations of others.
