The algorithm we live in
has become the dumb
nightmare weโ€™ve been given,

a constant flow of concessions,
sad contrivances to survive this
cog in the machine existence.

The fight seems pointless
with only minor bouts of resistance.
If history teaches us anything
it is only labor movements,
those unions that win men
woman and children
any real economic equality.

There wonโ€™t be any eulogy
for this lie we call democracy,
while men of prestige and property
have been constantly fighting
against those who bring the lightning
of enlightening insights about this fight.

Shrinking borders while expanding profits,
supporting fascists regimes,
whilst demolishing and reorganizing
governments that try socializing
their own countryโ€™s resources.

Our local war mongers
want to rehabilitate
the image that people hate
twist and change the slang,
rework and spin everything
over and over again
as the kings of what is truly Orwellian.

They are so close to destroying
the environment and
every human edifice,
every ounce of progress
in the name of
capitalistic measurements of success.

In this wasteland of avarice, I struggle to pull silver threads
From this gray cover of smog. The sound of brittle bones aching,
Drowned out by the quaking footsteps of titans.
Men, who would be gods, push for you to play your hand.
Knowing from their fingers, have you been dealt the cards.
A deck of diamonds, devoid of Kings with hearts.
Honor has been dead, since Pride married Malice and,
Greed shacked up with strife. 21st century freedom.
A modest monetary price,
For ownership stake of your life.
There is no honor in a wasted life.

I see you standing across the lake of fire,
Your body caved in wire,
Your eyes are the colour of black sapphire,
The excess of your skin begins to peel,
Your teeth are the colour of molten steel,
My heart is squelched in your hand,
You stare at me with hedonism,

Your long tongue runs along my heart,
You quench for the thirst of my self-worth,
Your long nails stretch and twinge my arteries,
Feels like the blood boiling in my pancreas,
I fall to my knees and let out a harrowing scream,

Blood dripples down from my mouth,
My teeth begin to spill out relentlessly
My soul is inflamed by all your greed,
I force myself to get up and plea for my worth

You rupture into a lowering laugh,
Which punctures and disrupts the earth
A black desert storm erupts and crackles,
The dense grey clouds oozes and bellows,
Heaviness of dust grain fills the atmosphere,
Creating a wheeziness and tightness in my chest,

I try to escape from the feeling of desolation,
A sensation of electrocution shocks my neck down to my spine,
My brain shivers and flips as an electric shock hits again,
An odour of burnt flesh pollutes the atmosphere,
My skin fades into a texture of black charcoal,

Feeling debilitated,
I fold and recoil into myself on the cold desert floor,
A wave of emotional pain creeps over my body,
I chew on my lower lip as my eyes swell up with tears,
My stomach churning and swirling with nausea
I close my eyes as the tears gush down my cheeks,
Lips trembling as I grip my sleeves for comfort,

Moment of silence as I weep into my hands,
I hear a deathly, low and sinister whisper in my ear,
โ€œItโ€™s over nowโ€ฆ.โ€
My swollen pallid eyes look up to see,
Their carcass shrivelled legs standing over me,
โ€œSurrender...โ€ they whisper with a devilish smile

Gotta spend money to enjoy the things i like in this world,
it's the sad fact of life now-adays, gotta have money so you can enjoy things due to the greed that has been created by man, superficial value is praised more among-st the mortals of Earth and people will do nearly anything in order to gain it, from robbing a convince store, to giving their body and soul to a company. A greed created through generations upon generations from the original foundation of being able to have a common way of trading, but now a thing that consumes the minds of many,
I know this fact, and yet I pursue monetary gain in order to enjoy the time with friends and the time I have by myself, but I must keep in mind these facts and not allow myself to be swallowed in despair and fear for the future that will be created  by this form of greed. Depression, anxiety, and fear created from this greed is a bottomless black hole that swallows many in my generation, most with the thoughts that there is no-way out nor a way for them to properly gain this within an instant, therefore demand immediate change to this, but without the after-thought of the affects, yes inflation will occur more-so now than in the past 30 years, but the fact that it will impact many of the small business and those who support them, in the end these small business will be swallowed up by the darkness of greed and will be forced to sell out to the larger and less competent corporations. Once again starting the despair in other generations, and re-starting the path of greed from monetary value.
I am so sorry, I just started typing and didn't think about it

The desire to want more
Has been corrupted
Such desires means much more
Than greed, gluttony, or lust

Is it wrong to demand more efficiency
From those who are supposed to lead us?

Is it too much to ask for more empathy
For those sorely in need of compassion?

Is it a sin to demand for more justice
For victims of hypocritical religious figures?

Is it not our basic human rights
To desire more safety and security?

Why do we judge those who want more
Because they want to share with others?

Why do we belittle those seeking equality
And bitterly challenge them more instead?

Why do we put down passions and talents?
When we need more creativity and imagination?

Why do those who are greedy have their wants satisfied
While the desperate ones have their urgent needs neglected?

We need MORE kindness
We need MORE humanity
We need MORE wisdom

Otherwise, in the end
Only anger and pain
Will grow and reign
Forevermore...

I want more, and I will lie no more.
Call me greedy; I don't care anymore.

I want more money. Who doesn't?
They are never enough. Never enough.
I am but a **** poor untalented peasant,
I just want to numb myself with more stuff.

With more money, I can buy more books.
The more pages I flipped, I lose myself more.
More money also means more toys that hooks
My inner child - he now knows freedom more.

I want more food. OM NOM NOM FOOD!
I hunger for simple gastronomical richness:
Multiple mint teabags to better calm my mood,
Serve with upsized servings of buttery tastiness.

Yet, even the simplest desires, Need. MONEY!
What's that you say? Learn to have less desires?
Let me write it down on my list; oh that's funny;
This long list, of desires, do you think it expires?

Nay, I say, for all my wants, shall grow evermore!
MORE! MORE! MORE!
I always take you in, any time that you are lost,
Iโ€™ve paid your bills, whatever they cost, now you leave me feeling, so alone, and lost.
I helped you out countless times, in many different ways, whenever you call, I am always there, any time of day,
now you have no feelings, for me in anyway.
I always did the right things, to satisfy your mind,
you couldnโ€™t count the dayโ€™s, or hours I gave you in time,
why are you being so unkind.
You used my house so many times, when on the run, to hide,
I always welcomed you, and made you feel safe inside,
and now, you make up lies, about me, why?
Whenever, your heart was broken, I was the only one who cared, when you are sick, I am always there,
And now you show appreciation, leaving me alone in a stare.

You Know someone Like this....
Johnson Oyeniran Apr 2021
Earth flows with such a rich abundance of important necessities,

To ensure the surival of life, including the human species.

But the less fortunate struggle every single day to make ends meet,

Because greed continues to posion the minds of the powers that be.
A one-of-A-kind planet,
In A universe of space,
The only one known,
With life, the human race.

Many countries divide,
Planet Earth, our place,
Different cultures, and religions,
Along with colors and race.

This globe, of land and water,
Reproduces, all survival needs,
Slowly being destroyed,
By the people, and their greed
