They said do not change seats on the plane

For we know your name and where you are sat

I am called Fred and I was sat in the aisle seat

I wanted to sit by the window and see the view

Especially as the big Boeing flying boat took off

The water looked so blue and lovely as we sped along

We took off and it was worth changing seats

The elderly man understood and changed

The view was awesome and to die for

The big engines pulling us along to the sky

When we arrived in New York I’d tell my mum

It was Christmas and I had been staying with my aunt

The trip was six hours and I got to look out the window

I would get into trouble if the airline clerks found out

If we crashed and burned or eaten by fish

They would go off our name and seat number

Matching it up to our ticket and passport

I was too young to have a passport

But that was fine for we were safe in the plane

Boeing built big safe planes especially water ones

Just wait till I told my mum about the view

From our big beautiful Boeing flying boat...

My passion ignites
As I read their thought's
Deep in contemplation
Their hearts get tossed
So unaware of their special gift's
And so here I must insist
The nest is high, the fall is far
But your not a nestlings
Your are a rising star
Dear young prodigies
Life is how it ought to be....
Humane stains
Droplets of pain
Mixed in a bucket
Of why oh why's
Post cognition
Hidden behind
Fresh wings
Write it and post it
It's time for you to fly.....

My comments aren't advice
I only say , hay
Roll those dice!

a futile ******
earth still
binds
me

not
my

death by flying too
close to Mars
warrior that
he is

he sent his arrows
which lanced my
♡ with such
longing it
could not
be controlled
anymore
than a

is
bound

the
air

and, so, the tears in
night's fabric
are sewn

Though i usually write in rhyme, I felt lead to write this piece. I wrote the title first & the rest sort of evolved.

I'm sitting on my wings
and wondering why I can't fly.
Is there a doctor I can speak to
that'll diagnose my desire to die?

Do you know what it's like
to make believe all the time?
Do you know what it's like
to be stuck between death and flight?

I look up to the sky so blue
and see birds flying like I'm supposed to.
What am I doing wrong?
I raise my arms up, always reaching

for a helping hand
yet they slap it with glee.
I'm not here to cheer though I'm
proud can someone give me a boost.

I think I've got my
wings free.
I'll flap them to this
frantic beat.

Where did everyone go?
I'm not sure I know.
The rest of them flew here.
How am I alone again?
Grounded in the air.

I'm sitting on my wings
they're pins and needles not downy feathers.
They push into every single nerve
each time I try to fly.

Do you know what it's like
to make believe all the time?
Do you know what it's like
to be stuck between death and flight?

Bird in the blue sky
Tiny wings, aims to fly high

feelings that are fleeting
words that suggest nothing
yet my subconscious mind says otherwise

dreams of you flying
and of me falling
shatter the moment I open my eyes

yet you continue to invade the most intimate parts of my mind

alluding to fairytale endings
to fireflies twinkling
to hands intertwining
to feelings that are lasting
and words that mean something

if dreams remain dreams
how come you’re still flying
and I’m still falling?

what is the blurry
between the joy and the blues,
we are daffodils flying in the wind
one moment
butterflies falling in the rain
another?

I refuse to stand still
And wait for the sun to shine on me
I’ll move so fast and free
That the sun will be forced to follow
Lets take flight
We have a world to see
Just you and me
Living out our dreams
