i once heard someone say
that souls were created
in two parts,
destined to spend their lifetime
searching the ends of the earth
for their missing half.
now i know,
that you were mine.
even now you are gone
and my weary bones
ache for you with each breath
all i can think
is how lucky i am
to have found and loved you
more intensely than the sun
burns in the heavens,
than never at all.
- you will be mine forever, the void never fills.

The familiar and well trodden
Walked over each and every day
Yet they still surprise and bewilder
Not so much that stones moved
Or grass grows blue or pigs fly
But the eyes of the soul renewed
Like a newborn child's first sight
Seeing the world fresh and anew
In every step you walked the walk.

Touch so comforting
A familiar hand to hold-
Spreading this disease
Honestly, I'm not one to write a Haiku. Despite that, I think that Hello Poetry needs one right now.

The angel returned
It had enclosed me in its fiery embrace
And burned through me
With a thousand incendiary gazes
From a thousand eyes
That as if spoke to me whispers I could not hear
In tongues I could not comprehend or understand
But I did not quiver in fear of the flames
As they cradled me in a familiar warmth
Even as the flames grew brighter
And I felt my skin drip off my bones
Into the nothingness below me

The angel disappeared again.

There's always a depth to familiarity
That has the mind at it's
Beck and call
Just a scent and the mind is
Overwhelmed with history
Spinning
Spinning
spinning
Release
A rush of emotions spill
In consistency with the nerve synapses
Connecting
Nostalgic or regretful,
Content or melancholy;
Always a constant reminder
Of the difference you can
Never return to.
And yet not the same

Take me to your doll house
Let me see your shelves
What is in your drawer
What will you not tell?

I wish to see the tattered
the broken and the flawed

I wish to be your keeper
Let me through your walls
I want to know you better than you know yourself

I must have loved you
in another life
because when I see you
when I hear you
when I hold you
it feels like coming home.
I only feel like myself around you.
When my hand is in yours
it's familiar and safe,
like I've known your soul
since the beginning of time,
through every life I've lived
and all the lives I have yet to experience.
Maybe that's why
my love for you
is infinite.
