I am sober.
Quote, "straight-edge soldier."
But I'm joking mostly,
Because I could be bolder.

While sipping caffeine
I sure didn't mean
To develop a picturesque
Addiction quite this obscene.

To cut out this feeling
Would make my spins wheeling,
Thinking bass-ackwards,
My open mind sealing.

Convenience-store liquid
Drips motivation twisted
With intense optimism
How can I give up this **** when

It makes me feel this *******
           good?
Energy drinks aren't as glamorous as classical addictions.

oh, sugar packet
spill your contents thoroughly
make my coffee sweet
Caffeine,
   Nicotine,
make me wish that I came clean

Covered by my shelter

             Covered by my will

and there you sit
curled up in a chair
with knees beneath
your chin, sipping
your hot coffee
oblivious to the world

tuned out the world
tuned into the fantasy
of a perfect unknown
world-
reality becomes an
evaporated puddle
under the sun

let the passers-by wonder
what thoughts
are running through your head
you'll never know
you'll never trust

so there you sit
Alone.

I’m up during the night,
Thinking that someday we might,
End up together,
Maybe even forever,

I can’t stop thinking about him,
It’s so bad,
It may as well be just a tad,
Of a sin,

I’m trying to fall asleep,
It’s very long,
I keep counting sheep,
And it keeps going on,

And he seems to keep me awake,
Way more than caffeine
I like my coffee like I like my men; keeping me wide awake.

**** up
your daily dose of caffeine
and face the world
with nothing else but
an empty slate for hope
and
a drained cup of faith
Coffee and tea
where would I be
without thee?

Half dead
still in my bed
whether or not
by one too many
a shot.

Coffee lips.

so bitter

yet so sweet.

You keep me awake

yet you make my heart palpitate.

Do I need you

or want you?

Coffee lips.

Your taste

I always crave.

Your bitterness

I cannot avoid.

You surge through me

like a drug

You flow

just like blood through my veins,

Coffee lips.

The residue sticks

to my sleeping lips

and by your taste

you wake  me.

Coffee lips.**

So bitter

yet sweet.

So lively

yet deadly.

I need you

more than I want you.
