It Has Been A Lifetime Of…

It has been a lifetime of, well, meditation:
Meditation/prayer, prayer weaker
(more appeal and supplication
Than an offering without a question).

Not really lifetime, I admit, but,
Years and years of seeking It,
Approaching It, trying to find, bind Arlene
With hope that she’ll become more than a hopeless dope;
Hope and that arcane, otherworldly word
That rhymes with earth and mirth and forth and wraith:

“What can it be?”(said she inscrutably).
Of course, it’s faith!
The hardest of the hard.
(Don’t let them kid you what they say they’ve got it)
Faith both gift and hard, hard practice.
Owning, losing day to day.

It’s been a lifetime – that’s for sure.
But life continues now to now:
Day to day, year to year
And meditation and the prayer
(Each in its place) continue too.
The real me
Still uncompleted
As of our poetic meet
This very heartbeat.

A lifetime yes, but lifetime is not over.

It is uncanny     how you felt so real
in the after-wake     of a vivid dream.
21:30 - 16/05/17
State of mind: rested; pensive; reflective.

Thoughts: from dreams - I sometimes have strange dreams that involve someone who I seem to identify with but can never see their face. I just feel their presence, which is supportive and reassuring, in essence.

Questions: how can we recognise that abstract thought - such as dreaming - is just as important and affecting as the tangible world around us? Why do we lose grip on dream states more easily than regular thoughts?

Notes: I could have written 'after waking up' but I wasn't fully awake or waking up. It was 4:00am, there was no chance of that happening.

When the mind circles      like an eagle soars,
lost souls will fly high     crying out for home.
16:15 - 01/07/17
State of mind: sorrow; hope.

Thoughts: from feeling - optimistic/loved. The higher we fly the further we are from being grounded. A good vantage point in high places is as important as our dreams, but it is a harsh and lonely place to soar through the thin, mountain air. In the face of hardship and austerity, it takes courage to not give up on what you believe in. I believe lost souls can find their home when their cries are heard... and answered.

Questions: How can we be heard by someone who is unwilling to listen?

Notes: credit to Sun for helping me with the idea.

Teapot be whistling
Nothing to pour it into
A helpless feeling
I need to find my next passion. I am that type of person that is completed dedicated to something or not at all.

You tell me that you love me,
"Oh thank you!" I say.
But you aren't happy with the answer.

And you keep on telling me so,
"I don't know what else to say."
I can only ever manage this.

My heart has been broken badly,
I can't tell you anything gladly.
Please understand and let me be.
I am sorry Kalpana Arora.

Hour by hour,      the morning sunrise
steals the night away.      Swallows, please shut up.
05:10 - 14/06/17
State of mind: restless; over-thinking

Thoughts: from thinking - about anything that will distract me from the swallows.

Questions: none

And just like that
Wreckage laid in flat
Fate and coincidence align
And now it's just a pastime
Until the final line
