I knew of a boy who cried wolf

He was once a bright soul

Shattered by something he saw

That day

He screamed in terror as we just watched

His cries echoed by the utter silence and oblivion surrounding him

At first we were quiet, then we laughed

But we didn't like him much

So we ate into him if we got agitated

Took our anger out on him if we wanted

After all, to us

All he could do was cry

So the story goes

With no remains to bury

For the troublesome boy

That always seemed to be haunted

By the wolf inside each and every one of us

We didn't deserve him

we slide through times
of nothing really
they’re delicate reminders –
i grew up learning cycles
with outlines hard to break

we vanish further –
unsurprising –
intentions fading footnotes
without the strength to leap
we’re shapeless
intermissions

the quiet ones for worse
caressed yet empty-handed
and waiting
with no end in sight

The sun ripples red through the veils of inevitability
Decay and darkness besets all
When everything we know shall not fall,
but crumble, into oblivion.

We are forgotten.

Still, we see through filth of your disguise.
Your bankruptcies and moral demise.

Oh how peaceful change can be,
If it is attained through conformity!
We are your once lost dream!

The lonesome figurines along your wall,
The distant, wailing familiar call,
And the endless strife for remembrance,
That we may not be strangers to the froths that we are
That we may struggle to come so far, only to fail, unlike you.

And so, by mere virtue of the nuisance that is all other things
We are, among the many things that we are,
Honest, True, Controversial and arguably good,
But, forgotten… dismissed and forlorn.

The children of dismay, whose wills robbed and voices clogged,
Once again, the generations outcast and lost to your pointless device.

But I was,
Between 11 and 12.
I was a Vulcan ruled by Logic.
Chief Science Officer on a starship

Disdainful of the soft, mere humans
Who surrounded me.
Who had invaded my planet
Polluting my atmosphere with their emotions.

With indomitable desires,
With their fear and their jealousies.
With their pleas to my heart
And their illogical presumptions.

I want you to care
about me.

I want you to stare.
I'm not fee
ling too

sure of myself,
but I can help
you
to start feeling well
if you want me to.

I just want to be
want to be
want to be
want to be
want to be
want to be
wanted.

Take me out on a date,
spend money on me.
Promise I wont be late,
need to know you're wi
ling to

sacrifice
a bit of yourself.
Bring me to paradise,
like I'm somebody else.

A grey horizon.
A gentle breeze.
A light rain.

You have the most beautiful blue eyes, she said.
An unsettling silence took hold.

A great wave crashes into land,
sweeps away at valleys and hills,
and it creeps inland into towns;
it drowns the world;
only I remain dry,
as I look at the brittle tops of the trees
with my tired eyes.

From my
throne of leaves
I wade through
the destruction,

A single tree on a hill survives,
through my wet, sluggish clothes, I struggle on,
wrestling the current,
closer to the tree;
but it was just a tree.
