Won’t you look at the mess you made?
The lights go out,
I come apart.
The sun rises,
And so do I.
But in the night,
When I’m alone,
Your shadow stands over me
And offers a sad smile
A plastic sorry
...
And I forgive you.
Every
Single
Time.
To this day,
your name
still hurts my tongue
but I still say it anyway.
Sometimes I like to
hear my soul
gently tear itself
apart.
Why is poetry dying
when we still have the gift?
If we still have water
then we still have a ship.
We can sail to the places
these words take us.
We are still shaken
by the words that make us.
Why should we let poetry die
when there is so much to explore?
If only people read it
and discovered more.
You are not perfect

Just real

Some drink away their sorrows, I write away mine. Exploiting the pain and declaring it as art. I wasn’t born a poet, I was broken into one.

I've always wanted someone to take my breath away
Bu after struggling to obtain oxygen these past few days
I have realized how precious it is
Saving it and storing it up for the right words
But my oxygen could never be wasted on you
My ribs may creak and crumble
And my lungs stretch paper thin
But oxygen is a precious thing
And you are worth every single breath
That burns me from the inside out
I have been very sick with a respiratory illness and lately it has caused my ribs to ache and it's a pain that I've never experienced before. Doing simple things hurts and requires so much effort. Important people in my life have been very helpful and they make me want to laugh even though it hurts but they make the pain worth it.

Is ignorance bliss?
Or is it simply lying to another?
Are you keeping them for yourself?
Or taking their air?
Smother.

Is it being so honest that the truth is blunt?
Or is it keeping loved ones away from the true battlefront?

Honesty can be
Intimidating
Chaotic
&
Rarely confessed
So here’s the question you must answer:
Is it better to keep a lie tidy?
Or reveal that the truth is a mess?

They say if you love something set it free
If it returns, it’s yours.
If it doesn’t
then it never was meant to be.

But, often times
I wonder What’s worse?
If our time together
Was a blessing or a curse?

Trying to hold on to something
With hope and faith alone.
Or having confirmation that in
your arms, I never belonged.

How could you possibly decide
the lesser evil of those two?
When every road or path I take
Seems to lead back to you?

Should I close my eyes
And flip a coin?
Or go on living life without ever knowing
If the loss of our love I’d mourn?

Well... all the cards in
my hand I’ve played.
For the chance to see
If you’d fly away or by my side you’d stay

It’s a hard fact of life I have learned
Just because you love someone
It doesn’t mean your love
they deserved

Today I set you free my love
To move on and Soar free
To find your hearts desire
Since it simply wasn’t me

One day I imagine you’ll
Reflect upon our love
I hope you’ll wonder
If by chance it had been sent from above
This is for the man I loved but could never truly have.
