Addicted to your touch
Long for your embrace
Wish I could tell you how I feel
Your brown skin against mine
Caressing the contours of your face
This feeling inside
Is getting harder to hide
I dread the day that I might accidentally blurt out those three words
Should I hide hide how I feel
Is what im feeling real?
Should I let my love soar?
Or should I close that door?
Im unsure
Don't have a cure
My black beauty
Could you possibly love me?
This is not a fantasy
Once upon a time,
I would see myself off to sleep
Eager to see the sun rise in the morning
Ready to face the world with open arms
^
It didn't take much time,
For the world to hurt me when I was open
Eager to forgive and forget I moved on
Ready to face the world with open arms
^
After some time,
I saw myself fall apart at the hands of others
Eager to find a reason to exist anymore
Ready to face my death with no regret
^
It took time,
For my wounds to heal and my body to cope
Eager to find myself and rekindle my fire
Ready to open myself up to the world
^
Lost track of time,
I stand broken, mended and broken over again
Eager to share my story of adversity and strength
Ready to open my experiences to the world

She Writes
I’d rather write than speak
My pen is always responsive
My ink doesn’t judge my mistakes
My paper doesn’t argue
My lines never cross me
My sentences never disappoint
And my words will never leave me

The pieces of me that are more you than me don't like the parts of me that are more me than you.

This means to say that when I met you, you infected me with your heart and your mind,
You left parts of yourself in me
So clearly that sometimes when you look at me, you see a mirror
You painted my body with your own colors, making me something different entirely

However beautiful this might seem,
There are parts of you that do not like me
So the parts of me that you painted so differently
Despise the parts of me that are truly who I'm meant to be.
This is the first part of a complete poem, but it stands on its own

She is not just an empty canvas for you to fill up your filthy art
She is not just an empty canvas for you to flow out your dark desires in red seduction
She is not just an empty canvas for you to write out your ***** poetry in paint
She is not just an empty canvas for you to colour her in pink and purple that are made up of your lies
She is not just an empty canvas for you to throw out your anger in chili red and orange like fire
You may be empty and lonely but you should never let yourself be destroyed by the artist that can paint you in colorful lies.

It's hard to write a poem
When there's nothing going on
It's hard to think of what to say
When you've given most of it away

As poets we never scratch the surface
We delve within, disclose our deepest sin
We crave our pain, declare it's for our art
Yet more often than not have no idea where to start

But start we do and start we must
A deep desire in all of us
To spill out on the written page
What little bit we have tried to save

Ink now is the poets blood
Fragments of self pour from within
Silence is our safety net
To stop us from bleeding out

Although it's hard to write a poem
With nothing going on
We still find words to form a verse
From deep within our marrow bone
