Lubhang mapanganib
ang sinumang daig
ng isang dayuhan umibig
sa 'di sinilangang bayan.

O, anong poot at sigalot
ang kanyang itinanim
sa Kaluntiang nagbigay-lilim
sa kanyang murang katawan,
Upang silaban at yurakan
ang kabanalan ng kasarinlan

Ang magkapatid ng pisi
ay 'di dapat magtunggali,
Ngunit ang isang bayaran
ay masahol pa sa kawatan

Kaya ako'y nananawagan
sa maringal kong Haring Bayan,
O, kanyang tipunin
Mga anak ng Dakilang Lahi,
Handang paglingkuran
ang lupang kinamulatan

Pagkat ang aking lupang kinamulatan
ay isang makatang manunulat,
Siya ay bukal ng kaluwalhatian,
Angkan ng kayumangging balat

Samakatuwid, bigyang pansin
ang nagngangalit na damdamin
ng Sinaunang Mandirigma,
Sa awit ng himagsikan
dumaloy ang himig ng dangal,
At sa kalupkop ng kanyang sandata
lumigwak ang kagitingan
magpasahanggang kamatayan,
Sa ngalan ng kalayaan

A poem for the great Filipino people.
iamtheavatar Aug 2016
This poem is my presence,
In a world devoid of its quintessence

It needs not know my name,
'Cause I ain't looking for fame

I ain't looking for love,
Already got it from above

I ain't looking for gold,
'Cause ****'s free when I'm old

Neither am I looking for recognition,
'Cause I have my own mission

One's losing is another's winning,
But this oblivious planet
just keeps spinning

Why pursue something that fades,
But ignore the crisis that pervades?

We're living in a world full of baits,
Constantly making us salivate,
Towards the things that manipulate

The brittle but
truth immaculate,

Where dialectics and debates
Flourish and permeate,
But situations only exacerbate

Love now, 'til it's too late

A call to love.

We are all hypocrites,
passionate on
crime, ***, and drama

We are all hypocrites,
building our
two-dimensional dioramas

We think fast,
our half-witted brains
conniving

We talk fast,
our foolproof tongues
praising

We love to hate others,
and bask in the glory
of their demise

We hate to love our brothers,
for all our speeches
are mem'rized

Stepping stones from naivety
Our vainglorious insanity
Romanticizing reality

The hand that
feeds us
is our enemy

When will this stop?

How far have we come?
Our masquerading insanity,
Egotistical sensuality
We bask in the luxury
Of our miserable depravity

Tumultuous cries and sweet lies,
It's only a state of mind
We malice, not chastise,
And give birth to anarchy

The world was an empty bliss
Reveled in the vast starlit sky
Now consumed by the beast inside,
Our inglorious unbecoming

Gazing* into the void—

with his pen going
to and fro onto a blank page:
just like two lovers
kissing each other,
repressing a momentary qualm,
exhuming the extravagant proof
of their existence

—is the writer,

lashing out
every synapse of his brain

for nothing.
Nothing.

You are not beaten
Your strength isn't broken
Your heart keeps beating

Have faith

When your ears start to get numb
By the sound of a thousand cries
And your knees can't lift you up

Look up

A glimpse of hope there is
When mountains fall around you
And the grounds below cut open
Nothing will shake your courage

Nothing will

This is something to remind you
When the earth forgets your name
At the roundabout of time

Look up

Behind the clouds where
The sun shines brightest
Streams of dreams endure
At the top of the mountains

Pray for Nepal.

Our hearts fit perfectly
Like wooden puzzle pieces
Cut from the same tree
Both have the same sadness,
Both share the same joy

Intertwined from birth,
Only but the two of us
The transliteration of our pulses
Forms the fixation of our beings;
The communication of our synapses
Pulls each other's heartstrings

No one else can feel,
Only but the two of us
The intangible connection
Between two worlds;
The eponymous heartbeats
Of our tethered hearts

May the world be my enemy,
And its chaos my sanctuary
But I'll never trade the times
For a hundred billion dimes

And if one day I lose you;
I'll borrow from the future
And lend to the past
Just to see you near me
Darling so dear; holding so fast
