I love kissing your lips
until an array of rosy pale bliss
shines along your ashy cheeks
breathes a sigh of relief.

I met him at the dock,
While the witch's hour watched
Lovebirds dive nakedly into the sea.
When he kissed me at sunrise,
I inhaled with the hope of holding Brevity.

That next night he left me on a sidewalk
With the taste of salt on my lips.
And as I let go of my breath, I swear
I felt a breeze dance between my fingertips.

"You don't look like you write poetry.."
Well, why not?
Is it because I am an athlete?
Is it because you misinterpret my personality?
Is it so hard to believe,
I can put my thoughts down
In a way I feel better?
Tell me,
Tell me please.
What does a poet look like?
Do all of them look the same?
Act the same?
Messy hair and beanies.
Scarves and hot tea.
Hipsters.
Suicidal or lovestruck.
Black or white.
The "artsy" types.
Typical stereotypical ideas of poets.
But we are not the same.
We are all different,
Except for one thing,
We all understand each other.
So please never judge me again,
Just because you don't understand
Our world.
Don't assume things about others. You may be surprised.

The idle ghosts of innocence
Dance sweetly in a silhouette of sun;
Teasing tiny palms, they shimmer
As tempting gold specs of treasure,
And as he plants these small seeds
I sometimes sense Time seethe --
*Fickle is man if he cannot see,
Of remembrance, dust is currency!

So happy I could die*

I don't understand what's going on in my head
Everything I've learned falls around me
And I just yearn to lie forever in my bed.
It hurts so much
I have so many incomprehensible feelings
That began with your touch.
And I don't mean a physical sensation
No, your words mean so much more
Or is this really what I've wanted: an unexpected revelation.
Well now it's killing me inside
I'm begging you to set me free
Til then I'll just run and hide
Til my heart gives out on me.
