There is a breeze that floats around you
When you stare longingly at opportunity’s shoes
They’re polished and ablaze with the colours of potential
And your soles are aching as they breathe through rugged leather
I know your feet can’t brave walking down the rocky path of regret
But around you, there is an enchanting glow
That pulls the wind as it lays down carpets of soil beneath your feet
And as you hang your head low,
Imagining the door that those glittering shoes would’ve taken you to
Courage follows you like a distant shadow
Your silent companion in pain
Waiting to embrace you with its resilient air
And as you long for reaching opportunity’s door
Courage prepares its wings to carry you to a million more.

If it is your colour that resonates
If it is your race that dictates
Then maybe you shall never move
Far from the roost
From your cultured standing
Self contained
Sometimes unexplained
But hostile and impervious to change
As all around
Earths wondrous ground
The rest of life is expanding

No fear for your difference
Yet animosity for you resistance
Your intellectual negligence
We all have colour
We all have creed
But not all of us
In fact most of us
Don’t need to prove this
By showing you how we bleed

In my small time
I have witnessed humanity
Commit each and every day
An inhumane crime
On mass we accept
As we protest to expect
And still the awaiting change sits lazy and loathing the air we breathe
So the meaning from within
Is maybe how we alter our current fate
Stand proud to be but alive, to experience the here and now
Embrace to erase

One face     One race

I lay in the embrace
Of the grass,
As my heart
Leaps euphoric,
To absorb the light,
The celestial glory,
From the heavenly
abode of stars,
Above me, in the sky.

Tropical weather brings along the rain,
Bathing burning skin, scorching sun,
And the tree out front has overgrown
Bright, tiny yellow flowers, sprinkled light.
They emerge, stars amongst the greenery
As we swim across the cooling sea,
Lemon flavor lingers in your mouth,
Sugary kisses, on humid nights.
And the tallest palms, they reach the skies,
Swaying gently, bending in the wind,
Month of June, I breeze, for all the whims,
And we keep each other, discovering.

The first of March,
The day where red and white entangle
In the tradition of Bulgaria
Into a token summoning good health,
And luck, and non-material wealth
To the body and the spirit of the wearer
Be well, my friends, and fellow feathers,
Around the world, from near and far,
May fortune bring you well
