I was never the type
of child that obeyed
much  of anything;
not even the many
times  I was told
not to stare into
the evening sun
when I felt
alone.

I didn't think danger had a face,
I saw you and I saw red beauty,
Plump, ripe lips,
My strawberry kiss,
You taste just like chaos feels.

You sold yourself sweet,
Red beauty,
In every book left unread,
The only thought in my head.
I could never find a warm lover,
In eyes, cold as these tombstones
Which we now embrace.

Sunsets asphyxiate skylines,
Tear lines, fate lines,
I think God wanted to see his favourite fall

Tantalizing fruit, stains like wine
On the mouth,
There is red beauty in a kiss,
And angels aren't so kind,
But neither are you.
I finished reading Tess of the D'urbervilles recently and it inspired me to write this. The title also comes from a quote from the book "My eyes were dazed by you for a little, and that was all".

I laid there with you
And we watched your phone ring
Time after time
These girls kept calling

We laid there all night
And we counted the stars
But each time we got to ten
We had to start over

Because these girls kept interrupting
Don't they know your mine at night?
They can have you tomorrow
When the moon fades away and gives permission to the light

Under the moon your kisses are mine
They must wait their turn
I have stolen your heart, therefore you give me your nights
Their place, they must earn.

my lover is my song
my reason to sing

A chill wind
prepares the land for sleep
snow-weighted clouds
brush golden-stubbled wheat fields
and bare clotted earth
laid out in heirloom patchwork
stitched from lean and bountiful years.

Poplar trees
arranged in perfectly
contoured lines
resist enforced conformity
their flaming arms
reach for each other
tangle and entwine.

Here,
good souls touch down
like wind-blown seeds
from distant lands
of sunlit love
fading purple twilight
and midnight blackness

gently settling
in fertile, protected hollows
where possibilities rest
and winter-over
awaiting the time to wake
and begin anew.
Written for my mother during a major transition in her life.
Waking up amid the rising twilight
A rush of fervent fever I start to feel within me
Human nature has unlocked the latch
And the passionate flame begins to immerse upon me
As my curiosity sparks to explore the shady sheets beneath

Wandering aimlessly along a promenade path
Where the full moon rules
And soft curls of winds recede
I feel like countless days have cruised by
And then by chance
A prominent glow before my unworldly eyes

You run my luscious hands across your chest
Your sweet scent and taste both so divine
This rush of warm heat upon our faces
This exciting feeling is no mirage
Bathing in carnation at this moment
Soaking deeply in love we are
And I leave the rest to magic

This magic spell we can’t resist
As we grab each others’ hips so tight
I feel it soothing so smoothly down upon me
To experience this magical sight
I can’t help my own rush from showing
And how it feels
It feels so fine
As I am relieved of this
Fleeting fever from my mind

you are beauty
in a nut shell
finally breaking free
of what it means
to be beautiful

in every lifetime
there is that special someone who steps into your path
while their presence may be brief
their footprints are eternal

I want to tell him
that I’m scared,
that I’ve been here before.
And that the last time I felt potential like this it imploded;
I imploded.
But I don’t want to taint it,
You see I’m still hopeful
That maybe this time
Won’t end up laced with maybes,
Or what ifs,
Or open wounds pouring blood onto paper.
That maybe this time,
just won’t end.

I’ve not quite worked out whether I think it’s beautiful,
Or stupid -
The human capacity,
And pliancy,
And longing,
For love.

First touch
First kiss,  bliss
I lick my lips
The tension releases
This feeling I feel
A sickness
This desire builds
All this touching
Still can't get my fill
Craving that look
Of passion in your eyes
Your disguise,
The satisfaction
Of friction,  sweat
Dripping between crevaces
Following the path
The moisture leaves a trail
To the bottom of the ocean
Explosion
Keep going
To the flame inside
It burns,  for you
Steady and hard
I feel this hunger
Quench my thirst
A slow and soft kiss,
First
Then it's just enough
The volcano erupts
Fall down,  bliss
It all started
With one sweet kiss

Listen, it's a beautiful thing
when distilled to its essence;
reduced to its purest form.
A paradox and a paradigm;
a paragon of perfection.
Epic in its arythmetic
progression; poetic.
Like Chinese arithmetic,
so hard it hurts. Yet soft
and exquisite, like a bubble
of love caught in a beating heart.
That place where poetry starts.

Write lines upon my heart
in pure white light
and I will read them

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Breathe in blossoming
warm compassion

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Touch the tender pool
of infinite white light

Breathe in blossoming
warm compassion

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Meet me in the air space
between your thoughts
For this is holy ground
With the greatest humility and gratitude, I wish to dedicate this poem tonight to all of you at HP who have shown such lovely support for this quiet poem, which emerged from my deepest inner awareness.
Above all, gratitude to my Teachers.
