Immortality
i failed,
please don't hate me.

tears fall,
nose aches,
throat burns.

hands tremble,
heart clenched,
lost in this ache.

my love can't defy you,
my weakness.

before the mirror,
"I'll make them proud,"
murmurs to my heart.

i failed,
please don't hate me.
the feeling when you fail your loved ones— for me, my parents, and for you, others— when you see the stars in their eyes and realize that you've stolen their shine.
I don't write
to forget my problems
nor to pretend that
all stars are
glistening for me
I write
to let you know
that you too
can break free
from the ugliest things
that dominate you
within your head.
Him
My heart that seeks the world to mend,
With kindness, love, and courage to lend.
In every thought, in every sigh,
The love I have for you won’t die.
The world may change, and time will flee,
But in my heart, you’ll always be.
In your presence, I find my peace,
A love that never seeks release.
You are the best person I've ever met,
May my love for you never end.
Today feels
Different
And yet
At some point
It will feel
Like
Yesterday
Moving on.

On my walls hang two pieces of art;
large canvases boldly splashed
with colour, stroke upon stroke formed vivid arcs.

I wish I had kept my father's paintbrushes,
they were tools of masterpieces.
From them, my strokes could have made faces flush
and inspired songs and poetry; love?

But, perhaps ‘twas a blessing to create with unique expression and freedom.

Nothing is personal
It's just your ego
dramatically making it seem
the trash is all over you.
Time is moving
so
slow
I'm dissociating
the danger
I'm in
my
consciousness
is blocking it
from
my
mind

But even though I can't
comprehend
the
enormity
of what's about
to
happen,
I
still
can't seem to
catch
my
breath
It's still
all
I can think about
I don't understand
I don't want this

I'm scared
We usually say "step into the light"
when there's nothing but night
but do we say "step into the night"
when the light is so bright that it
not only blinds but burns out our eyes?

When extremist's play their games
to blind our sensitive eyes
it doesn't matter if they're
using darkness or light

It's all the same if you're snowblind
or just left alone in the dark
whether it's viral or bacterial
it's still an infection

Feeling our way in the heavy black
air – too thick to breathe
fumbling around in the light
gray
air -- too thin to breathe

Caught in the loop of groping
the walls of our minds
in twilight
struggling to refocus in moonlight
then so exhausted by daybreak
that we sleep it all off until dusk

Too much darkness
Too much light
Too much cold
Too much heat
Too much pleasure
Too much pain
Too much sunshine
Too much rain
You can have too little
or too much of anything.

Instead of door slamming,
Listen to heavy metal music,
And engage in headbanging.

Instead of giving into violence,
Listen to the sounds of violins,
And practise non-violence.
