Give me dark to balance my bright light!
I'll take my humor dark, my mocha dark,
My midnight starlight hike refreshing
Like a stroll in a fragrant park
For what is the flower without the root?
Festooned in the pitch black rich soil?
And what is the play
In the bright light of day
Without the ache of practice and toil?

Wild hearts
I let them race toward me
from across
the great canyons of
red-romance
there once was a girl who broke promises like tea glasses. It wasn't hard, really. just a little too much heat, too much pressure. maybe she just didn't pay attention, until there were tea glasses shattered all over the floor.
     but one day the girl worried that someone would see all that broken glass and start to wonder, so she grabbed fistfuls of the mess and she swallowed it all down down down where no one could ever see. and the jagged shards tore at her insides, shredded her gut into ****** ribbons, bedazzled her stomach lining like stars.
     the girl smiled and bled and broke more promises and swallowed and swallowed and swallowed. until one day those pretty tea glass promises ripped her open and everyone could see her mistakes spill out of her as she bled out on the floor.
settle down children, this one's about you.
Though use of line breaks is art,
it needn't use them at all to be so.

Punctuation isn't necessary, per se,
yet some tend to opt for it anyway.

Sometimes rhyme serves only to detract,
but it can also catalyze familiarization of the abstract.

Meter is a byproduct, but it can be deliberate;
some people like pop, but others jazz or prog;
rhythm means more to some than others,
and some recognize in places where others do not.

Some find it unnecessary to consider; a waste of time.
Some find it to be balancing and are compelled towards it,
and would have it no other way.

Whatever it means to you
is what's truly important;
you have to feel something
so you might as well express it.

Those who will understand
will truly understand-
though that is a different group
than those who may well say so.
Be not jaded: they overlap!

The Traveler does not so much choose the Way
as the Way seems to Shepard certain Travelers;
how is it that can be?

Call it:
God, Tao, Zen, Consciousness, or the Universe itself;
it is all and nothing; inside and out,
it's neither a thing, nor nothing,
so tread lightly and embrace the paradox
because it really is irrelevant
how One chooses to effigize it-
it's what One has within already
that will serve as One's salvation,
and that's really all that matters.

Should we seek to harbor that of others, as well,
we could become as we've seldom been known to be.

In any case, we'll meet in the light;
whence we've all come, to begin with-
whence we've been ever since-
whence we've been blinded
seemingly of our own volition.

Be conscious of what makes you Live
and then help it to actualize,
all the while seeking that others
may do the very same.

Blessings upon thy Path-
Basically became a prayer.

For the perfect recipe
Two cups of all-purpose flour
Let's get started
One cup of butter
Makes it creamy
One fresh egg
Binds us strong
Half teaspoon of vanilla
Your luscious lips
Quarter teaspoon of salt
My love is hydroscopic
And less sugar
I don't need more

Oh ******, when everything I see
Reminds me of
You
eye did.   As my prejudices expected, the odd assortment of "characters"were all present and not to be unaccounted for...a romantic comedy on a good Friday, attracts the believers, the well wishers, the ones who think if only the world was.. and I was not re or so tired of life, unemployed, lonely, damaged in some manner of being...

not too many young, just a few... theater darkness is a masque, with a risqué chance of oh no, I've been witnessed by the non-believers.

the infirm with their mobile caretakers and paraphernalia were there.  Odd couples, were there.  If there was one unifying common characteristic, I selected this one.  We all needed haircuts. eye don't know why but it made me think about going to get one's haircut, and the rituals that requires....and it is and is not a bit like being in a almost totally private world inpublic, where you, the individual and some outside force majeure, hairdresser, movie screen engages and temporarily transforms you.  That is why, I, went to the movies on a Friday afternoon, to be transformed and not reformed, in public, in private...
