1,116 miles separates your flesh from mine
but i still feel your warmth
in the palms of my hands
in the pit of my stomach
in the space between my legs.
cold nights remind me of the space between us
but i've never felt so close to someone.
i swear if i'm lucky
i dream of you,
like a ghost,
crawling in through my window
into my sheets -
lips crawling across my jaw and
fingers crawling up my thighs.

I’ve pulled men away from religion
as they sunk their teeth into my soul
gave them hope with every photo
as I simultaneously cut tiny holes

They called me Snowflake
so pretty but so cold
or maybe they called me
Snowflake

Because of the way I melt
so quick on their tongues
as I melt down their throat
and fill their empty soul

A spark...of enchantment
when I first met you.
A kindled passion
As I get to know you.

A burning sensation
everytime I touch you.
A bright emanation
of the inspiration I get from you.

A spark of jealousy
when someone else comes near.
A scalding tongue
I didn't intend, my dear.

A dimming light
I earnestly try to rekindle.
An extinguished hope
Is the fate of this candle.
A kiss just a kiss until you
   Find the one you love,
A hug is just a hug until
you find the one you're
   always thinking of.

A dream is just a dream
   Until it comes true,

Love was just a word until
   they day I met you.
let me write beautiful poetry
onto your skin with my lips

each kiss represents my words
my lips represent the pen and
your body as my paper

let me create something
so beautiful with you
I want him to be mine
Let’s pretend we were made
To be the two of us together
Let’s pretend not just today,
But tomorrow too, and forever.
Let’s pretend some cupid guy
Shot his arrow at both our hearts.
Let’s pretend we had no choice
That some magic made it start.

Let’s pretend there is nobody
On this earth but we two.
That neither of us has work
Or any chores we must do.
Let’s act the same as if
We were just two small kids
And build some loving memories
Of the fun things we did.

Let’s pretend that our love
Is all we will ever really need
And let this game of our hearts
And souls happily proceed.
And let’s pretend the two of us
Get to make all the rules
And people who don’t agree
Are just ordinary boring fools.

Let’s pretend there’s nothing we
Need to worry ourselves about
And that any problems that occur
We two can work them out.
Let’s pretend this is a world
Like the one in our fondest dreams
And see if we can make it be
Precisely as magical as it seems.

Dear Daddy

You put your hand on my leg in the movies.

I wanted you to stop.

You hugged me.

I wanted you to stop.

You smiled at me.

I wanted you to stop.

Imagine being afraid of a stranger,

Imagine that stranger was your father.

Signed your 8 year old daughter.
I'm sorry about this one.
feel the muscles tensing there
softly hear my praises sing
raise my pulse, and pull my hair--
my body is a loving thing.

touch my neck: its hairs will raise
feel my goosebumps spread;
if your lips on mine should graze
i shall never join the dead.

but to you i'm only skin
and all my tears are not enough
to baptize me from how you've sinned
and how you took advantage, love.
lol ******* David Gumberg. I'm a person and I loved you and you took advantage of me
you
your hands
calloused with the evidence of hard work and pain
your arms
strong and thick from carrying the burdens of life
your back
solid and sore from constant stress
your eyes
sunken and tired

but oh your hands
so soft when they trace my lips
your arms
so tender when you hold me
your back
supporting me through every affliction
your eyes
filled with nothing but love
