”If you are to love,
love freely and unburdened
by the tombstones
of past miscalculated regrets.”

But the heart
inadvertently beats
to the mismatched rhythms
of a hundred
caged doves’ wings.

To finish your own life by hand,
May seem like the right thing to do.
But to free yourself from this land,
Is to imprison those that love you.

Every 28 days comes
the red tide we were
gifted as girls our curse.
Our red badge of courage.
Sherry marked his white Levis.
He put a red pen in his pocket.
I splashed paint on my jeans and went home ignored as usual.

I am in love
Head over heels
A thunderstorm of flutters in my heart
But I will put you,
Lord,
first
For if I live my life by the way of God
Everything else will fall into place
All I need is to have a little faith

She controls her laughter,
lets it slip from the edge of her mouth,
the corners of her lips lift ever so slightly,
then, she makes a sound,
seamlessly, her fingers graze my thighs,
smoothly, her eyes meet mine,
and in her eyes, I see my reflection—
aflame, abashed, and fiery,

She is the answer I’ve scoured the world for,
and yet, she, herself, remains a mystery,

Ah, I see,
She controls her laughter
as easily as she controls me.

Nobody
Sometimes inspiration is free
Other-times it costs you the world
In our abandon we seek
Divinity, eternity
And often the meaning
Of our words
Eludes even us
Are we an author?
A seeker?
A valiant warrior
Braving the darkness
Seeking for such elusiveness
It sets the mind free
Within that darkness
Lies the eternal
A place without form
A castle, a dungeon
And for the unwise
A prison without end
And only those
Well acquainted
With their own madness
May tread its murky waters
To pluck that fruit
Whose shape is an omnipresent
Kaleidoscope of meanings
And to solidify its form
And cast it onto sprawling page
This is our work
Our bottomless pit
Our greatest weakness
And our ultimate triumph.

I put my heart on the pages of my favorite book, such that you will trace each word to know me better/ I will place my love in the core of my favorite things, such that you will see why I treasure it so much/I am sorry if I won't kiss you because my passion doesn't lie on my lips/It's not the texture of skin that I crave but for the eyes read the soul within/If you were to ever leave me I wouldn't be living in your head/I would be in the shadows of the things present, at the places that we met.

Everyone has a book.

Every single book is still incomplete until the day that its owner expires.

Some of us have nice, clean books on the outside.
"What a nice book, I bet it hasn't been through too much, it's in such great condition."

Open it.
Go on.

Read their story, will you?
What does it say?

Every book is worth reading.

The most beautiful ones are the saddest ones you will ever read.

So.
Tell me.
What writing lies within your book?

You put a spout on your love and you decisively let it drip,
I am a waterfall of never ending flow to quench thy lips.
You and I are not the same

I knew long ago my mind was too delusional,
To the point of forgetting it was just an illusion.
I kept deceiving myself with empty dreams,
And broken promises kept on piling up once again.
I am slipping between a scarce chance and stability,
I forget uselessness of my desires since the sun is never on my side,
I am friends with nights full of insomnia and sleeplessness.

Run, I run into branches of the sunny wires,
Tumble and kneel to whatever catch my eyes,
I mark them as godly, pray for wellbeing,
Afraid to allow a human touch.
I don't have sorrows yet to eat me inside.
