Smile

I hope that you will smile today
and give yourself a break.
A smile can be great medicine.
It helps when hearts might ache.

Perhaps, if you try hard enough,
the smile becomes a grin.
And when you've worn it long enough,
you'll feel it grow and then...

The grin becomes a chuckle
and it then becomes a laugh.
And everyone will wonder if
you've made a social gaffe.

For laughter is contagious
and it helps to get us through.
Here's hoping that today will bring
some happiness to you.
People can be pure,
or impure.

People can be real,
or unreal.

People can be there,
or no where.

People can be friends,
or enemies.

People can be beneficial,
or detrimental.

Abolish those who seek to destroy you...

Here's to the writers—

You have the power to paint words
Into beautiful art—
To be able to touch a soul—
To touch one's heart

You can make the stormy sky blue—
Stop the waves from crashing to the shore
You can make all the withered flowers bloom—
Turn winter into summer, a glimpse of gold

You can make someone's dark day colorful—
Gather hope to put in between your words
Make them feel that they are understood—
That they aren't alone in this cruel world

You can mend someone's broken heart—
Put love in between your lines
Let them know that they are enough—
That being hurt is just a part of life

Yes—
We can make a whole new perspective—
We can create a world of our own
And no, we don't speak only for ourselves—
But also for all the lost souls

I wandered blackout drunk lost
trading cigarettes for directions
from crustpunks who took swigs
from bottles of cheap plasticsugar alcohol

Muttering to myself in selfdefense
sublimating the toxic fire in my eyes
into soundwave echoes
bouncing off of plywood windows
and abandoned stolen cars

Angry limping at breakleg pace
down the heroinblessed streets
of yet another vibrant American slum.

Rebel Heart
I'm choking
Drowning
Sinking in my own tears
That sting and fall
Down my face...
You may act like a stranger
Or worse, a friend
But my heart still remembers
All the love
All the pain

Your scent still lingers on me
Your touch a phantom on my skin
But my body stays stuck
Frozen in time
As I sense you near me once more

I thought I'd seen you for the last time
So I locked the bittersweet memories
Into a chest and buried it
Into the folds of time...
But one sight of you
And it all crashed open
You destroyed me before
But seeing you again
Shattered me.
The hardest thing is seeing someone you never wanted to see again and pretending it's all okay while breaking apart inside out

My melancholy,disquite muse,was the one
Who taught me to empathize with, beats of
Waves, moon lit nights, mermaid songs
Whale whistles of lovelorn moments,
Heartbreaks ending failed love affairs
That haunts the hearts like unmitigated thirsts.
She walks me through the garden path,
Taking my cold shivering hands
            ....in her warm trembling palm...

I see the young blooms fallen from
The lap of the vine, that held them close,
Fondled with such affection, showered for a lifetime.
I see all of them, trampled over, crumpled in the dust.

The withered flowers on bushes we pass, one by one,
They look lackluster  in the crushing
Harsh sun, my muse who refused to speak all along,
Now has teardrops rolling down her eyes.
She makes my crusted ice cap collapse, I melt
Not being able to look at my heart broken by beloved.

I look around for a bud or a sprout extolling hope
A young shoot softly whispers,"Life is here, in wait"
