I find it strange that when I look into your eyes I'm not met with an endless starry sky. The world around me doesn't freeze or turn monochrome around everyone but you. I don't see an endless sea or visions of a setting sun, no matter my determination. So how do I know it is love if it isn't as the words I've heard all my life describe?

Yet my heart still drops when you walk into the room, even when your focus is a place far off. People say it's like a flutter but this is far too heavy to use such a light word to describe such a feeling. It's painful, but I know it isn't something ominous or bad because it feels right. How do I know it is love if none if my words describe it right as they should?

I get it every time our eyes meet or you tilt your head and smile with your head in the clouds. I get it when you laugh to yourself or say something hardly above a whisper. When you focus so hard you ***** up and let out that silly sigh of aggravation and I feel such deep affection. Yet is it alright for me to say what I feel is love when I can't even tell myself what love is?

I don't think your eyes need starry skies or my stomach needs a million butterflies. Your smile doesn't need to illuminate the room and my thoughts for you don't need an anchor. Your love shouldn't have an expectation and my words don't need to have a proper diction.

Perhaps I'll see it in your heart or feel it in your touch one day if you feel the same regardless of what the world has sold me with their modern day poetry. I promise you that no matter how hopeless I become I will find out for myself  what it means to love you wholly, even if I have to find out from loving at a distance.
I don't understand why I write so many poems about love when I am not even in love. It is so frustrating to have words without a muse and a muse without words.

But how can we allow the ones we love and love us, to cause us so Mutch pain and suffering for so long.... I fully understand the concept of truly loving someone to the point you would be willing to try anything to make it work..however if you acctually loved another would you not want to coexist in happiness and harmony as opposed to; deceit, neglect and underappreciation.... take someone in an abusive relationship persay why do they continue to go back, why dose the  abuser continue to abuse... or the freind who's all for constructive criticism, but leaves out the constructive part... So what is this "love" that allows us to walk into situations blindfolded.... And allows us, to allow the same people to continue to cause us harm...

What is love?
Love is knowing it won't last
What is love?
Love is dreading each day without her.
What is love?
Love is suffocating on the familiar scent of her perfume.
What is love?
Love is crying yourself to sleep every excruciating night without her
What is love?
Love  is listening to the same song over and over again because it was our song.
What is love?
Love is wondering if she even cared at all.
What is love?
Love is trying not to fall apart even though there is nothing left to hold onto.
What is love?
I don't know, but I know she is the love of my life but she will never be mine again.

Her eyes bat innocence
While her hair screams LSD

Learn to embrace the dissonance
Cause she just wants to be free

Autumn is the witches season
Still, summer clings without reason

Grasping at all the lovely bits
That tear her into nothingness

When she's falling she finds her power
Power that's needed to rule the hour

But how is an hour long enough?
For her to look tuff and feel tough?

Love is complicated
Love requires patience
Love requires tolerance
Love require  honesty
Love requires sacrifices
Love comes with trials
Love comes unexpectedly
It is involuntary
Love hits us like a ton of brick
It cause us to lose control
It cause us to do strange things
It cause us to constantly be around someone
Constantly think of someone
Love make us understand someone
Love gives us hope
Love give us courage
Love make us happy
Love makes us strong
Love makes us weak
Love makes us confused
Love makes us complete
Love is everything.
We, are created to fall in love.

Tears are walking in the city street
Memories are fighting in this circumstance
Two lovers found their fate to meet
Both of them made their eyes glance

The warmth of the rain they have versed
The coldness of the sun they felt
They have thought their love was cursed,
But their hearts made a rock melt.

The sunset falls into the sky,
People in the bay were passing by.
An atmosphere full of pain,
Turns into blissful memories that they can gain.

How painful love could be,
Sacrificing all of your happiness to make someone smile
But at the end of time, you will plea
That love is afar, farther than a hundred miles.

If I knew what love was,
I'd feel it,
Right?
If I knew what love is,
I'd find it easily...
Right?
If I knew what love is...
Would I still have found you?
Cuz if I knew what love is,
I'd find it in your smile,
Your warm hands and playful laugh.
I'd find it in the way you fix your hair;
In your voice and the way you look at me.
If I knew what love is...
I'd know I found it.
He might be what I've been missing. And I'm scared to feel something old in a new person.
What is independence?
Is it just thinking for yourself?
Can you describe desire,
Or is that just as well.
I'm so afraid of what I want
And it's afraid with me.
Solemn vows are shattered.
Amend the life that be.
Broken things are beautiful.
Dreams are all a code.
Sometimes what you needed,
Contradicts the other wants.
Four eyes locked in place,
Bruised skin, lost lace.
No awkward silence,
The happy feeling;
We'll speak until it leaves us.

I miss it now,
just thinking,
That independence means alone.
An ode to MY 4th of July.
