The sense of how large

the universe is, makes man --

both little and great.
"Rimedio: la geografia" ("Solution: geography", 1920, Luigi Pirandello), referring to Pascal's thought (1657-1662): Par l'espace l'univers me comprend et m'engloutit comme un point; par la pensée je le comprends. (Through space the universe comprehends me and swallows me up like a point; by thought I comprehend the universe.)

In deep outer space
Where stars shine with
Elegance and grace
And it's so quite and
Planets dance in their orbit
And space is a very special place
With mysteries waiting to be
Explored so hurry up and let's go
To space the universe a never ending embrace.
Space

Scattered snakes
A leap of faith
A vacation from self
Into void

Two doors
Open Eyes
A descent
Into what we avoid

Constant sounds
Crescendos
To proximity
Of now
Meditation breaks
Then reforms

Foreign Sensations
Cell surge
Heavy heart
Static dreams
A pit opens
In consciousness

Destruction of silos
Synthesized parts
Hypnotized whole
One moment
Breaking into many

Weight of being
Sinking into flesh
Falling through mind
Flying past thought
Floating in awareness
Light as emptiness

I want to hold onto my memories
Like water in cupped hands
I fear entropy taking them away
Bit by bit, byte by byte
I am attached to them and I love them
Even as they change me
I see life through them
Through dreams that dream me

Webs of Stories form beliefs
Influencing actions
Creating concepts of me
Until me becomes myth

A synthesis of cells
Speaking electric tongues
A possession of matter
By patterns that think
Through a brain and a spine
And everything between
Resulting in unity
Of scattered fragments

Interactions forming bonds
All the way up
All the way down
Outside and within
Culture eating society
Society eating self

Self eating body
Body eating mind
Biology consuming chemistry
Chemistry consuming physics
Down to quantum foam

Relationships and interactions
Observation collapses waves
Into singular moments
Of existence

Embodied interactionism
Where Brahman meets brain
Where infinite touches finite
Where I dissolve
Into we

Forming beliefs
From scattered signs
Influencing actions
Through quantum dice
Creating me
From cosmic debris
Until individual
Becomes universal

Cast in amber shadows
Slow the thick light gathering
Slow the evening’s long embrace
The moon’s sigh soft in the clouds
And drifting down
Stardust showers us

In the shadows time’s passage
These stardust mountains and valleys
This end of eons, far from the stars
At the far side of the turning wheel
In amber shadows end the day

Once two vast stars danced
Together their heavenly minuet
Burst in wild ecstasy, spinning and turning
Burst in wild ecstasy, fire and burning

Now together we dance
Slow to the memory
In each other’s arms,
Of when we were once stars!
The elements that constitute the bodies that we wear now, were forged in the hearts of long dead stars.  This stikes me as incredibly romantic.

Love alongside hate
Loss alongside gain
The words tragedies, the purest of miracles
The brave and the cowardly
The heart and the mind
One cannot exist without the other
Can’t have life without death
Nor death without life
As is the way of the universe

I've been watching patterns in nature lately, savoring their beauty.
We are born,
unfolding,
into the world's natural grid,
painting the infinite canvas.

I finally see that we are one and the same in this cycle,
interconnected.
So different,
yet so familiar.

The trees structured like our lungs,
our veins like the vast rivers.
Our hearts pulse,
and so do the shore waves.
I look into the stars swimming in the antimatter,
and they look back at me.
Among them I see your eyes,
like two suns,
radiating warmth onto my soul,
reaching evey corner of my being.

I will never forget the time we had,
how it colored my world's canvas.
Fun fact: the first, simple version of this poem came from a conversation I had in my dream about a year ago. You'll never know when documenting your dreams can become useful; and here I am, writing a poem out of it.
Have an interesting day.

Are we really in the same physical space,
Or is it just a dream I hold onto?
Imagining you there across the field
Of what feels like an eternity between you and me.

I listen, looking for the love within the lyrics,
Always with the questions: why these artists, why these songs?
I listen so I can find the thread
To what you’re thinking, speaking without speaking,
Touching without body. Knowing, feeling, resonating, imagining.

Springing to life in a world
That only exists on threads strewn across the universe.
Morse code of the soul, a green light in the bathroom,
Detested by others, a bat signal that holds a space
For love and remembrance.

The little things, writing in green ink because, well…
You, you, you. You have a presence even in the physical impossibility.
How can such a piercing gaze cross thresholds such as this?
How can I know, feel, see, experience the world without you in it,
Yet you are every part of it. Every inch.

You are a soft melody,
The note on a piano that touches my heart until I’m brought to tears.
You are the wind, the sun, and all the rays that bless the sky.
You are perfection at its core, the graceful feathers of a hummingbird,
Still and moving all at once.

You are ripples on the lake after a stone skipped
With pure confidence reaches the other side.
You are peace, steadying the soul in the worst of storms.
You are love, a beautiful burst of rainbow hues
Exploding in the sky for those with only true hearts with vision to see.

You are the deepest expression of beauty that I know.
You are a gliding ballerina, mastering the movement of soft pink chiffon.
You are the flowing water that fills my soul
And gives me the power to move with clarity, grace,
And just the right amount of pressure.

I see you in my mind’s eye, faceless, formless,
Everything and nothing all at once.
You are the humbling force in my life,
My tether in this universe.
You are beautiful, ever flowing.

Distance means nothing
When someone means everything
It's not a long distance
When the universe doesn't exist
The clock is not working
There is no time
We can dance in the snow
Only if you want

It could have been different.
Don't you think?

If we never lived.
The lives we did.

If fate didn't have other plans.
If death didn't take a vacation.
If one thing changed our direction.

We could be indescribable.
We could be unrecognizable.

Trapped in another time.
Destined to never meet.

It could have been different.
Somehow we could have changed.

Never be who we were meant to.
Doomed to forever stay the same.

Fate is funny like that.
Still we wonder.

Only in another life.
Things would be better.
