I tried to hold on to you
but you were
nothing but sand
And I was the tide
Who tried to drag
you out to sea
Madhav Mehra Nov 2017
And Love is like sand
You can never hold it
But once you've been to the beach
You'll always find it somewhere,
Glittering in your sweaters.
Once you've loved someone there's no going back from it <3

Let us share
an incantation of the old world
Let us unfurl words like a string of pearls
torn from ocean deep - I battled Krakens
to bring you these words – let me wreathe
the drowning seed of ancient demons
in a modern tale of high rise jewellery
You can wear me at your leisure
for I am a book of poetry - open in your hands
caress my pages - I offer ages of wisdom in sand
strung sorrowful about a stony neck
can you see the mystery of that cloud
striated by the mountains tip carved
deep into the sky in defiance of the wind
unbowed by time yet so vulnerable
to lion and tiger, to the hermit and his tearful rain
did you know that every beach was once a mountain?
so every ocean floor kissed the sky in its youth
let us built these fragments into clamshells
string them on pearlescent pages turned
by curious eyes and ponder how time
makes a mystery or a monster of us all
Let us share
this incantation of the old world
for in words
              we can live forever
The magic of book will never leave us, the old books section of your local thrift store, the library down the road, too often forgotten, read me... I am your book. This story is you

Waiting is not my vocation
Patience then not my forte
I could say I've been
standing in the rain forever
But the Sun always shines
in LA

I hear there's an LA Woman
Maybe here is where
She again will appear
The clouds blew through
for just a few seconds
But here in LA
all the skies are
bright blue
sunny and clear

They say She lives
by the ocean
She walks barefoot
in the sand by the sea
Behind Her ear
there's a flower
All then take notice
of She

Her whispers
barely but silent
resound throughout all
conscious thought
Her aura is of love and passion
hoping and never to be lost

There is an LA Woman
The wind makes a carriage
for Her grace
She smiles as if
by Her magic
the moments of
Her movements
are blessed

I will wait
a little bit longer
An hour or maybe
much more
Where minutes
cascade into later
Until again Her beauty
is once more revealed

Waiting is not my vocation
Patience then not my forte
I could say I've been waiting
in the rain forever

But everyone knows
the Sun always shines
in LA.

Silken silver strings strung
Around the vessels in the brine
Intertwine , holding my hand
A battalion stranded

Tiny little droplets drip
They trip over the cracks
In the wood, the oaken deck
Into the seafoam it lands

The algae clad the bones
In tone of green, hues of blue
The barren remains of the crew

In the silver silken sand strung with string on a stranded vessel

What is sand?

Individually it's nothing
But why is it everything

Under the heat of the sun
The mountains standing
The rocks underneath the running rivers

Sand is nothing but everything after all
she bathe at tea
so adamant with soil
her concerto dd glisten
and would.glide her costume
like spice in Egypt
