Amali Valdaperez Jul 2015
and they fell, with such intensity
among the leaves of laughter
and rolled around in history
crumbling leaves of distance
all gold, and brown
and free

and they stayed there and they rested
comfortable
and sighing
at home, at peace, and rested

the sweet wanting of desire wakes them
the sensuous dew at dawn
brushing aside
the distancing of sleep

and there in the valley
with the leaves all green and gold
only truth is speaking
only truth is told

because no less
would be deserved
and no less would
be received
a soft breeze that tickles the soul
brights the light
and shines
on leaves
all orange and gold.
The moment she realized she had taken back her happiness was one of the greatest moments of her life. The light shined in and her soul, heart, and mind melded together rejoicing in the fact that they were finally on the same page.
I am finally truly content with life.

If we never get back together
Then I'd rather die alone
I know who was the one
What's another year on my own

You never made me feel strange
You knew how to sit next to me
I never had to explain it
You just did it naturally

Yeah I'd rather die alone
Than try to pretend
No one else is you
You're my only friend

The moon lives only at night
But the earth thinks of her all day
It seems our life apart
Is just like natures way

We're not going to tempt fate
We're going to get out of it's way
Whenever it decides what to do
We'll know if the past will become today

Yeah I'd rather die alone
Than try to pretend
Nobody else will do
You're my only friend
Alexandria Hope Nov 2014
They say I can't chase you next
Can't seek out the moon over Mexico
or relive the tears I shed on the plane
home,
I can't feel the tirelessness of our forever
like the hope that dawned and set inside your eyes
I memorized every stitch in the broken couch
and I can still see us there
You're studying, I'm sleeping,
Planting rhubarb and watching our trees grow
Lightning shorted out the reception tower out back
As I sat on the end of our bed, mind blank, and laughed
All the glitter on the stone patio and the shirt left in the rain and the socks hung to dry on a hook you
Forgot
We kneaded pizza dough and watched Roseanne
That I jumped on you in the middle of the storm as you held me,
Kissing while UMF raged
In one loud, still moment
You are stopping me at the towel shack
Finding my legs under the restaurant table
Shoving my mittened hand in your pocket
Asking me to stay
Messaging me
and I know I'll chase you again
I just can't be with you now.
You'll see
One cannot stress too much,
the necessity of staying in touch
when the heart grows of someone fond,
laughing and dancing with them to life's song
it forgets all passage of time
gets attached to them, like two sides of a dime
but often times we must part ways
often times we are parted for days
and we long for the joy of their company again
though we think that the bond is retained
even if we were not to stay in touch
the heart is a fickle creature as such
it will quickly find a new object of affection
make a new friend, and forget that old relation
so if you cherish our friendship very much
I ask you my friend, do stay in touch.
One day we may be reunited again
Till that day let's keep alive the flame
of our lovely kinship, and hope to reclaim
some day, all our past joy again.
I was guilty of ignoring an old friend, and so wrote myself a reminder. :)

I forget how many kisses we've shared,
but I know how many more we'll share when I'm back.
