Why?
Because every memory is still beautiful!
Even when intentions of actions were unkind.
For these burning fires have birthed
My greatest strengths.
Thank you for all you have done.
Our roles at the close of the last act, complete.
Watching as the curtain closes
Shedding the glove, we call a body
We return to the Light from which we came.
There is a purpose to everything we go through. There are rich lessons that come by seeking understanding as we grow through the pains, we face in life. No matter how difficult they may seem, there is a rainbow in each struggle. Ask to be shown the Light within your darkest moments.
I assure you, it is there. ❤ May you find it and find peace ❤ 🙏

I saw a little car today
zooming past my window

It was so small
yet it moved so quickly; unafraid

a bigger car approached it
swerving just before the crash

but there it stood resilient
waiting for its turn to go

and all I could think was:
how do I be more like that?

The nights are long but the days are longer
Only in her sleep does she exhale
The rest of the world loosening its grip

She thinks of false promises and shallow hopes
Things all too familiar by now
And swears to do better for her child

The baby on her back now a young woman too
Still her precious light and hope
"My only sunshine" in the dark

She feels her bones and flesh aching from the race
Her heart beats stronger than rising tides
An indomitable force pushing at an irrational object

And so she wakes, smiles at the sky
Fixing sunny side ups for her kin
To get by in spite of everything

is sometimes the bravest act of all
inspired by Brandi Carlile's "The Joke"

There is a story that I'm told:
When I was only six years old,
A playmate I met in Uni parks;
When her mother found out that I
Lived just past the marsh,
I was declared bad company.
To which I did reply:
"When I am rich and famous,
I won't treat you as you have treated me."
Since then, I have met many an ignoramus
But never 'til this evening, did I recall the reply,
Of a hurt, stung, but sage and sweet child: The six year old I.
I think it's always important to be the bigger person. We all have kindness in us - We must be the light when we encounter darkness. Do not give your provokers the pleasure of seeing you sink down to their level. Can it be argued that a person is only truly grown up when they start wishing a person the chance that they might open their eyes, rather than cursing them for keeping these closed, or being by nature blind?
Again a personal poem inspired by today's struggle. It is a little one compared to many others: As you probably know I'm trying to raise money so that the daily struggles of people with fatigue-related conditions can be eventually eliminated. The Morten Group - Oxford is on track towards doing that. They have raised more than half of their target of £30K, please help them raise the remainder, so that they can find the cause and work towards the cure for illnesses like ME/CFS, endometriosis, Chronic Lyme Disease, Long COVID and PANS/PANDAS. Please could you repost this poem or consider donating to this link: www.development.ox.ac.uk/mecfs .
Thank you so, so much for your help!

You are not here
How do I live
How do I breathe
I feel lonely and it hurts
Just in here where they cannot see
Why did you go
Didn't you know I'd miss you so
I want to run into your arms
I want you to hold me through the night
But where are you
Will you ever come back to me
So many questions clouding my mind
Last night I walked under the rain
Thinking back to when you were there
Do you remember our first kiss was under the rain
Did you hear me scream your name
As I let my tears get washed away by the rain
Today our daughter asked about you
What was I to say to her
Should i tell her you are gone
I wish it was that easy
Would you please come back to me

death is such an unexpected occassion that takes our loved away leaving our souls yearning for their memories

Remember God loves you.
He has your back.
You are safe.
Praise be.

When you believe in yourself,
Toxic words of others
Wash off
Like water off a duck’s back,
So hold your head up high,
Be true to yourself,
And don’t be swayed
By others’ pettiness, jealousy and spite,
For that is their chosen stony path in life,
And you have yours.
