Somewhere along the way
the pen fell out of my hand,
and the words got lost in my head.
Creativity still bubbled in my head,
but on paper it all fell short.
Maybe with new adventures that have just passed,
and more adventures planned ahead,
I’ll discover my words once more.
And fill the pages of my book.
The love for writing is never truly gone.
I wrote this poem in 2018 when I was in a sort of creativity slump.

I’m a fool
My craziness is spilling
A page catching the words
Forever falling
Out of my head
Overjoy or overreact
Lean because I lack

If asked why I hold onto love so tightly even when it's killing me
I'd say because it's the only escape I've found from the pain of survival

How many wounds have healed by the graze of a tender touch?

Times you have crossed my path at the exact time I needed shelter from life's storm you made a roof out of your attentive arms to protect me

I would say  thank you but my mind can't create a "Thanks" big enough to display my infinite gratitude

It is easier for me to say "sorry" for not showing my love than to try and come up short

You never knew you were my once-upon-a-time because I was too embarrassed to confess to you that I believe in fairytales

Which has left us on two very different pages
A little confessional freeverse

As I sit in this classroom

Listening to keys clattering

Pencils clicking

Feet tapping

Pages flipping

Shuffling feet

Creaking seat

Faint ac, or is that the heater?

Such is unknown to me

For it is all overwhelming

Things so small

Yet so impacting.

Then, from outside

Chatter of children

Wind whispering my very name

Calling me to the freedom of the outdoors

A plane overhead

Announcing its presence

Clicking of a mouse

A pencil dropping

People adjusting in their seats

Drinking water

Back to work

The tap of a foot

The shuffle of paper

Pages turning

Legs shifting positions

Another plane overhead

And all the while,

Here I wonder,

While pages are turning;

What am I learning?

Never can I focus during a test - unless 'tis on the surrounding sounds.

Lets go for a walk now
You'll find subtle changes
The grass a little longer
A chair in the trash
You'll see as you go further
Emmersed in all the stages
You won't even notice
All you've left back
Everythings different
Yet stays the same
You'll search for answers again and again
And if you're lucky you'll find some warmth
Someone to hold you through floods and through storms
Outside there's a blanket
A canopy of stars
I tried to show you which one is mars
Sometimes it feels like were already there
The only people for miles living life without care
Everythings different
Yet stays the same
You'll search for answers again and again
And if you're lucky you'll find some warmth
Someone to hold you through floods and through storms
Everything is quiet
Except for the echo
The uncertainty of what you should let go
I will not cry no I've realized
Good times never die
Good times never die
Everythings different
Yet stays the same
You'll search for answers again and again
And if you're lucky you'll find some warmth
Someone to hold you through floods and through storms

**** it they said, without bowing their head, and forgot to mention they knew.
The story was told, of a trail of gold, that seemed too good to be true.

That trail it seems, was really a dream of the man that guarded the book.
The book was so old that the pages we're told, were faint, and gobbledygook.

What would you do if your trail's taboo, would you continue and go on your way?
Or change up your course, find a new source, and see how it plays out today?

What would YOU do?
