Tink Nov 2017
Once upon a time
In a land full of pantomime
There was this girl called Tink
Meeting her Peter in a blink
The time they had was filled with fun
Laughter and banter like no one.
Their bonding growing to soul transmission
Until Captain Hook made it his mission
To destroy their love and affection
Leaving back hurt and destruction.
And then it all turned complicated
Tink and Peter Pan got so frustrated.
Their love and affection taking the toll
Of a twisted evil mind on a roll.
A promise to be different
And yet turned out irrelevant
With sadness in her heart she looks back on a past
Of a friendship and bond that didn't last.

If you feel like
You can’t live another day
Cause the path you’re walking
Has faded to grey,
I will leave you a light on
To help guide your way.

But if the light starts to fade again
And you’re stuck wondering
“Is this the end?”
I’ll call out your name
And grab you by the hand
As we walk through the darkness
into neverland.

Believe me my friend,
This isn’t the end
And I will stay by your side
Until your light shines bright again.

I find solitude by the shores
The cool summer has just arrived
By the watch of seagulls swaying side to side
Diving like the scuba
Is the rhythm by the show and the rising tides

Deeply in thoughts in my dreamland
Nolstagic memories with captain hook
In a world of captivating ideologies, neverland
Life in a matter of numbers and dominance, says hook

Size isn't the limitation but the solomonic wisdom
Based on the agenda stratification
Peter pan thrills my dreamland
Giving hope and purpose to the affiliates

Leaving my dreamland with an option

Hey Peter?
Where are you?
You promised me you'd be here!
I have my bags packed!
My teddy is scared of flying,
but I trust you won't let us fall!
Where are you?
You said you'd take me away to Neverland
Where I don't have to grow up
I've been waiting by my window for you
Please hurry up
You said you'd come....
....
Maybe they're right
I've been waiting for years
I still have hope you'll come, but
Maybe it's time to give up.
Give up the naive mind of a child
Give up the hopes and dreams you gave me
Maybe it's time to start falling instead of flying
To lock up those empty promises in a box and put it away
Face the reality of the real world...
....
.......
Goodbye, Peter.

At seven I heard the story of Peter Pan;

Growing up wasn't part of his plan.

I wish he'd fly through my window sill,

When the stars are bright and the lakes are still.

I would ask him to take me to Neverland,

Where growing up has always been banned,

And never planned.

I'd never have to hear my parents fight,

Everything would finally be alright.

He'd take me through the sky in one big leap,

Over rivers and through mountains steep.

Second star to the right.

Straight on till morning; through the night.

To Neverland.

I'd meet the infamous Tinkerbell,

I knew we'd get on well.

I’d hear her jibber-jabber,

Among the laughter.

I could see Mermaid Lagoon,

As we sink Captain Hook's platoon.

I can join the lost boys; form a family.

Away from the land of the ******; my ruthless reality.

Meet the brave Tiger-Lily,

We could be perfectly silly.

And meet the crocodile who tried to **** time, eating a clock.

Tick tock, tick tock.

I may be able to find a treasure trove.

Maybe I can make a home in a cozy cove.

Peter and I would be as thick as thieves,

I’d make him a crown of leaves.

We will live forever.

To age, we will never surrender.

To live will be an awfully big adventure.

Too far from Peter, I'd never venture.

All you need is faith, trust and pixie dust,

Or you might just combust.

You just have to believe

and you will never have to grieve

and no one would ever leave.

I'd never have to be strong.

I'd never have to care for long.

So let us begin the journey.

To Neverland.

My timeless eternity.

My fantasy.

My delightful daydream.

My bittersweet destiny.

My dreams of Neverland have yet to cease.

And I am already in my late teens.
I wrote this last year, for class and I suppose now's a good time as ever to post it.

Tell me vivid lies
Tell me it's me all along
Take me to Neverland
Where truths will never be told
Take me to Wonderland
Where we can wander all day
Be my magician
Make me believe to that mellifluous voice of yours
For the truth is a poison
Give me a caution
and perhaps, one day
you might have liked to grow
and share your Neverland
with someone you’d come to know

but was life ever fair
to boys who were lost
granted, you discovered yourself
but at what cost?

they said to never say goodbye
and to never go away
but they forgot to warn you
sometimes life won’t let you stay

and you’ll never be forgotten
because we all believe
with a bit of fairy dust
in our Neverland, you’ll forever live.
Remembering Michael Llewelyn Davies, one of the boys who inspired  J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan.  This poem is dedicated to him and to Jonathan Ferrara, an author whose upcoming book  inspired me to write this poem.

You're like Peter Pan,
Visiting me at night.
Sometime stays for hours,
Other times for a quick chat.
Then goes back to Neverland.
I wonder why you took time to visit.
****** Bells awaits you?
Sometimes we play for hours,
Other time you just vanish.
Then gone for days.
I wonder why you took time to visit.
Sometimes you are just there
To listen to me ranting about my days.
Then gone quiet.
I wonder why you took time to visit.
