Respiro en paz,
mi café favorito canta.
Recuerdo de primavera
despierta en mi taza.
El sol toca la ventana,
mi corazón se siente a gusto.

Los pájaros cantan,
El aire habla,
un susurro silencioso
Mientras miro-
el goteo del fregadero.

Haiku – Some Fun
Haikus are fun
You can put in a little
Something like a pun

Haiku – In My Brain
Haiku in my brain
I can’t stop I’m just insane
Haiku don’t complain

Haiku – *******
I see stars, I fell
It’s hot, am I in some hell
Get up you *******

Haiku – For You
Haiku just for you
Learned to count them 5-7-5
Now I’m stuck to you

Haiku - Till Morning
Last one for the night
I can only dream some more
Can’t wait till morning
Ok. I'm getting a little carried away. My last group for a bit.

when the weight of the sun gets too much,
the night comes to save me with its haunting darkness,
it comfortably suffocates me with its bleak covering,
waiting until I'm ready to meet the morn again,

but when the shadow of the dusk becomes unbearable,
the sun comes to protect me from the fears,
from the thoughts which hide in daylight,
from the things that bring me self-doubt,

so yes you are my late night sky,
hiding me from the blinding light of the world,
but you are also my early dawn,
rescuing me from myself when I am in the dead of the night.

Today I woke up
Birds chirping
Frogs screeching

The sunshine dawning down on me
Not a raindrop in sight
Will today be a good day?
Who knows really
All I can do is try my best today

The air feels soft-
A little breeze
The coffee is hot-
Good enough for me

The machine rattles as the beans-
Get crushed up with the water,
How lovely to see

Shoes waiting patiently to be worn
Not today I've sworn
I'll take it easy for a day
And make the most of it-
Today.
An easy day.

You're so beautiful in the mornings
With your wild hair and grumpy mood
Mumbling about the early alarm
Scrunched eyes, looking for your glasses
Saying good morning to me quietly
Even sometimes still groggy
Even sometimes half asleep
I get to wake up to that
And every morning
I get to fall in love all over again

Morning light breathes
life into every flower,

reflecting odd geometries
that follow me hour to hour.

Between each step scattered
on the coniferous ground,

are my dreams, forgotten
inside a still, dark pond.

Searching noon for new eyes
is the easiest task, I feel,

when one forgets what isn’t real.

And as I kneel at dusk,
with pockets full of daylight,

uncertainty shields me
from the river trailing behind.

A devouring gush of blue moves
inside the chest of twilight,

and all that I hold dissolves
into a thousand new eyes;

and all that I fear becomes
what brings the night alive.

I am a fool to think
I ever walked alone,

for you are everywhere—
and you are here, too.

Only a certain eye lets me sleep;
and one remains open

to another rapturous beginning.
In these blue veins, a wild sea

courses with a stream of stars
from each wound widening.

Something more real than I lives
in the abyss that pulls on all things,

and yet my soul glows brighter
when it is darker still.
There is no sun without shadow, and it is essential to know the night. The absurd man says yes and his efforts will henceforth be unceasing.

Take your bible out.
Thaw at room temperature
with a bedside prayer.

By morning you'll find
every page will have suffused
ineffably.

The sacred have kept
their biblical pro-portions.
Savour each mouthful.

All your 5 a day.

Sun-blanketed sheets,
a crumpled map of us,
our bodies
a single braid
beneath.

Yesterday’s coffee
- cold -
but still enough.

Dust waltzing
in the slanted light,
each one
a tiny planet
taking flight.

Your breath,
a slow rhythm
on my skin,
quieting all within.

No need for words,
no need to see—
just this
slow
breathing
symphony.

sunlight spills
across her face,
the warm glow seeping
through the curtains
quietly,
while she sleeps --
like the morning
is in love with her too.

her lashes catch
the warm sun,
like she's dreaming
in golden.
i stay still,
quiet,
gentle --
not because i might wake her,
but because i don't want
to break
the moment.
