She was so hung up on the moon
that she forgot it disappeared sometimes
and every time they would remind her
to which she would reply
"he's still there
quiet but aware
and i'm still here
waiting, unafraid"

but young one
do you not see the light?
the ever glow of the morn
that causes you to stir
and awaken from your slumber
that shines on you
that you may live one more day

the moon may define the day with its orbit
but it can never be called the day
without the sun
sometimes,
we need to have a little of both
so here i am,
giving 2 portions of my heart
to one called the moon
and the other, called the sun

Cold feet
And she likes the cold she used to know.

The gone heat
Seems like summer came a century ago

The night is dark
She walks along the train tracks like a dying soul.

Her love she'll guard
Until blood shines on her iron sword.

Knight to knight
And storm to storm
She'll stand by her unfaithful Lord

Night to night
And dawn to dawn
He's long gone but his body is warm.

Out it blooms
Like daisies flourish in the springtime.

Her life she'll doom
But there's still hope through those haunting crimes.

And if she stays
Maybe her life will solve with a big climb.

Knight to knight
And storm to storm
She'll stand by her dying Lord

Night to night
And dawn to dawn
She'll cloak herself in a reckless ward.

He had asked why I often refer to him as a soldier or warrior.
I answered because he had liked something I had previously written and he was- is my soldier. He has bravely faced everything that comes with me, my dark, my light, my chaos, my calm. Our resulting exchange was this:

But I am not your knight in shining armor, do you know why?
No, Why?
"A knight in shining armor is..."
*"... is a man who has never had his metal truly tested."
But a soldier marches into battle time and time again and continues the fight on broken bones covered in blood, sweat, tears and above all passion and loyalty to his cause, his fight, and the ones who fight alongside him.
I don't know who originally said that quote.

I love you even though it hurts;
I love you even though you're the worst.
I just love you because you're you,
and nobody can dictate what I'll do.

I will fight for us.
I promise you, one day, we don't have to adjust.
Trust me, from this day on wards, I'll be your light,
and I'll trust you, you'll be my knight.

They said we can't be.
But from now on we're free
I don't care if they'll disagree,
because it's just you, and me.

Take your heart and wrap it in fine silk.
Love elegantly like candle-lit dinner and aged wine.
Slow dance to jazz or juke box
Until your body memorizes every step
to the beat of hearts loving.

But do not forget to guard that fragile thing.
Remind yourself that your heart is too precious
To be broken easily by unworthy knights.

There was a brave and selfless knight
His armour shone, exceeding bright
And sworn he was, for all his days
To do what he thought right

When once, upon a whim, he took
A shortcut ‘round a little brook
He came upon a pretty maid
And promise he forsook

For came a dragon through the field
The knight his mighty blade did wield
The worm, with flaming wings unfurled
Crashed hard against his shield

Escaped the knight into the wood
When save the girl, only he could
For life he deemed more precious, there
Than doing what he should

The dragon ceased her attack, when
Pursued by braver knights and men
She turned, at bay, and died to save
The young ones in her den

Judge not the greatest nor the least
Until you see the soul in deeds
But now decide, of these two, which
Was nobler... man or beast?
An aegis is an ancient greek type of shield. If someone's aegis was shattered in battle, his brothers-in-arms would protect him from the enemy with their own shields. Someone under such protection was said to be "under the aegis" of his friend. Over time, the word evolved to mean literally both the shield itself and the idea of protection in general.
on an evening
of bleak winter chill
a lone knight rode
to Bartonleigh hill*

stationed there
was his maiden cute
plucking the strings
of an out of tune lute

as she plucked
the rats did cry
never had they heard
such a rumpus lullaby

upon her door
a knocker knocked
it was the lone knight
minus his left sock

oh she said
your foot looks blue
come warm it near
the fire's flaming hue

he quickly placed
his toes by the hearth's side
thence gave a promise
*to take her as his bride
