If you don’t mean it
Don’t say it
If you can’t live with it
Don’t think it
Because tomorrow will come
And I will act upon it

You don’t know anything about me
There's just been talk
There's never been a night
But time has no place to go
What we think we know
Is only what we want to know

It's ok
I won't break you

You know I’m not society
Or the answer to your dreams
I’m a moment never to forget
But then your life will stay behind
And I will be gone
While love closes the blinds

It's easy for me to say these things
To be so sure about who I am
And how immune to love I can be
But is the fear of love
The fear of life
Or what I am made of?

It's ok
I'll keep looking

A woman is a mirror
It’s not always what she says
It’s how she suffers
And I know it to be true
But how can I live looking at myself
Even if I’m in love with you?

I can’t imagine your feelings
Not that empathy is my enemy
But it's too much sometimes
All I can see
Is how I’ve failed you
And everything you wanted from me

It's ok
I won't walk away

There is incessant noise
in the city—as if the blinding light
blocking out the sky was not enough.
They never spread their wings, but oh,
do they spread far and wide; but their songs
are nothing to shake a tail-feather at.
The squabbling and screeching
of fighting roosters, the mimicry
of baby cockatiels finding their voices,
the chattering of gossiping hens,
hawks that stalk the night
only to swoop in screaming
at the first sparrow to cross their paths,
the mourning doves who wake alone
to cry and moan their songs of melancholy.

They remain awake and call out into the night
longer than the old owl in the park.

The ****** of crows bear witness
to the clamor on this night; looking on—
as the Eyes of God—
in disgust and judgment.
These tall, fleshy creatures see fit
to complain of the calls of pigeons and gulls
when their noise is the farthest-reaching plague
that keep all awake at night.

imagine a world without mirrors
there'd be no judgment of others based on ourselves
and no judgment of ourselves based on others
imagine a world without mirrors
our souls would be the tools with which we'd perceive
not our eyes
imagine a world without mirrors
scratches, marks, burns and scars
would be treasured as symbols of strength and sacrifice
imagine a world without mirrors
we'd look deeper than the mere facades of our exteriors
into the intrinsic complexities and marvels of the heart
imagine a world without mirrors
our childhood innocence would remain
but our naiveties would fall away
imagine a world without mirrors
we'd behold our sisters and brothers in grace and awe
we'd behold them with love
I don't know why, but I keep asking myself what the world would be like without mirrors
i have been placed on to a pedestal.
for every one to gawk at and be repulsed by.
I do not hate these people for judging what I've done.
I'm an animal
trapped in a cage
confused,
but understanding when a finger is pointed my way and the booming voices shout
'YOU HAVE BETRAYED US!!'
And what tears my insides apart
is that I have not only
betrayed
my friends,
but also myself.
I despise what I see in the mirror;
mentally
physically
even the existence of my being.
how can the unforgivable
be forgiven?

I'm weighed down by their judgmental glances
they're watching, judging me
from my colored hair to my ripped jeans
the scars they caused litter my arms
covered by bracelets

I'm the outcast with a smile on my face
a misfit of the ******
you beat me down leaving me in pieces
one day our roles will reverse
I'll be the bully
you'll be the outcast
The world is an aquarium

We all have a tank

With a paragraph of information about us next to our tank

When people see you they notice your looks and move on

If you are a tall skinny blond boy with blue eyes the girls will stop and get to know you

If you are a shorter boy with brown hair who has acne and is wider people might just move onto the next exhibit

The people in the tanks can't tell what they people on the outside are saying

But they don't care

They are all unique and they know that

People will always judge but they are not the ones you should try and impress

You are the only one who can truly judge you

Take a little
puff, puff,
before you
pass, pass
judgment.
