We've numbers in distress;
We've villains and scoundrels
In need of redress;
Choose any one of one thousand quests -
We're in desperate need of a Hero.

No call for a cape or cowl,
Hidden rings or magic swords;
We need action,
Not placating words -
From a righteous Hero.

Greece or Rome won't be the origin,
There may well be one in Oregon;
At this juncture we'll take anyone -
A home grown or welcome Hero.

We'll have truth without hyperbole,
Not disdain, but hearing dignity;
One to rise up, reach out, lift us
From the swamp of vanity.

We don't need Deus ex machina,
Or anything supernatural;
A woman or man,
Natural or choice,
A sister or brother,
To call us home;
To hear a voice say,
You're not alone.

Singing high to Fernando and dancing down low in Orlando

When ecstasy suddenly turned to tragedy

They were just out bopping, then he came out just popping

The pulse was beating, while he was out cheating

His wife new about his scouting

But she never thought 'bout the victims

That the families would be counting

Forty nine were just out to dine and wine

Fifty or so, still lying so low, feeling not so fine

He tried to crawl out, just after his last shot

Popo's saw him on the floor and said no more

Put a bullet in his ***, the same place he liked it, that's for sure.

You can call us all, including our dog, your hero men
So when you need help quickly call 9/11
Rescue we try and save you we hope, from Gods sun filled heaven
but sometimes we lose out to the devil in this ash scattered hell
Climbing the steps and spraying the fire, that nobody's skin should've felt
Bringing you out, one by one, just hold on tight to my safety belt.

We are there to protect you, not to distress you
Dressed in blue, pistol and taser at side, all in full view
We arrest the speedsters, traffickers and all the gangsters
Let the judges decide if the sentence should incur extra time for visitors
Your lawyers, barristers and familiar jailbird friends
Will testify, use false alibi to get you off and to make amends.

We're racing to the scene with the medicine in the back
Inside bed, needles and portable CPR machine, just in case of a heart attack
We will revive the dead, patch up a sore head and even help mother with newborn
So let us through with ease and don't for a second put your hand on the horn
For one day, it might be you or your family or even a long lost friend
That is waiting for the moving medical miracle machine in the end.

We dress in disguise, mainly in tree green and dirt black
On the back of tanks, falling from the sky and we won't take any flak
We're here with orders from the guy at the top
So don't get upset at us, when we come back with a hop
We fight to protect the freedom of all mankind
Just doing our job and hoping not to leave, anybody behind.

Planned departer, back-up martyr,
More required, less inspired,
Sparse support 'till last resort,
Strong aversion, faint exertion.

In the waiting 'til you're cornered,
you have foundered at the start.
Since not searching for the needy
shows you lack the hero's heart.

I've seen redundant heroes
Inked and fully formed
They're faded from a lack of use
Like blunted dusty swords

I've seen redundant heroes
With no questing quite begun
Unknowingly replaced by you
The hero player-one.
Thanks to Ian Livingston and Steve Jackson, creators of Fighting Fantasy books in which YOU become the hero.

Every Villain wishes for love
Every Hero wishes people weren't always watching
Every Villain dreams of stars
Every Hero dreams of slaughtering

Laying in the grass
you look up into the sky,
it's a warm night between summer and fall.
The stars twinkle and you let yourself drift off.

You're dreaming.
You're floating up to the stars,
all of the things that make you who you are,
encompass you.

Then you wonder,
is it wrong?
To wish for a savior?
I'm here to tell you it isn't.

It's okay to want someone to save you.
To long for them...
to wish they'd rush into your life
and be there to catch you.

You're only so strong alone.
It's okay to sometimes,
just sometimes...
want someone to be the hero you're dreaming of.

Pure.
Beautiful.
No, not you!
You are dark.
As pale as a ghost
But necrotic inside.
You are inconsequential.
Devastatingly so. The truth of
that is hard to handle, but
If you can it is power.
The lack of meaning
Can breed heros
Like you?
Or take the lazy way, and be a villian?
