Cascading into a dreamless sleep,
I notice that the embers of fire
flickering by the fireplace
are fading away like memories.
Like memories that nurture the soul and
yet at the same time destroy the heart.
Blurred visions from another lifetime shut out my silent whispers.
Silent whispers for mercy, for cruelty, and for love.
I think about you even when I am in deep slumber,
Remembering your eyes that held me prisoner with a single glance.
Cascading into a dreamless sleep,
I can only wish that tomorrow I wake up from this torturing dream to you holding me in your arms.
I think of you all the time.
I want to be with you all the time.
I dream of you all the time.
Dream a little dream of me.......

An hour of fire
Catches sight and soul for hire
Pain recedes in light
Musing on purchasing a portable wood fire pit to ease my anxiety.

It is the fault of a firefighter for putting your desires out. The blame of a cop for ruining the smile. The town itself for letting these figures in.

You were burning, happy and alone. The stereo played something in the back round that reminded you of a loss, a loss you must not recover from. The improbable odds of winning that war with mourning. Keep looking at the clock, it never stops.

You wrapped yourself in the blanket on the cold, damp cement floor and noticed the paint peeling off the walls seemed to morph if you stared long enough. It was jail, it was honest. It wasn't the lowest of places but it sure wasn't your desire.

These ******* broke you, only laughing at the shattering of hearts and swearing they were needed for your sake and mine. I guess its always been coming that way, down the line, down the lost direction so many pointed in.

I am now lost with out the chaos, without the dignity of knowing you or I, will be ok in the claws of the madness they call "order". You never needed anyone but yourself. You never needed. you never. You, burning and buried.

Scorched earth
Chars all who walk it
Of the burned
Blistered and broken
Hope is relishing in the heat
Knowing someone else is safe
As long as they're the only one on fire
Some recoil to the warmth
Can only cast the pain onto others
I am straw and twigs
If my immolation will bring you peace
Then I have one last request
Can I get a light?

Imagine! We see God's image in creation
He created us in His own image and likeness
I see in my mind a dim and glorious image
Beautifully, I behold this wondrous visage:
In tongues of fire the Spirit descends
And with boldness, our faith, we defend.
Preach the Gospel by your words and living
And with great gladness and joy always giving
Of yourselves in service to your fellow man,
And using your gifts as best as you can.
We are called, we are equipped, and sent out
By the Spirit of God whom we shall not doubt.
My weary bones are filled with new life
My blood is hot and almost burns
I am electrified as the Spirit comes alive
My flesh cries out, my soul how it yearns!
If you are what you should be
You'll set the whole world ablaze.
May the love of God spread like wildfire
And may the nations forever praise.
What an image: imagine!

I had mistaken the embers for ashes.
I passed by, blind to the fire,
betraying the flames
and leaving the phoenix
for a more prescient pilgrim.
In too much of a rush.

When the calm in my eyes met the fire in yours, I mistook your heat for warmth.
You were an artist and arsonist, creating something beautiful just to destroy it.
The cycle was violent, reminiscent of manipulated shades of red on canvas.
Your words were sharp, softening my tone until I fell into quiet submission.
Your need for control couldn't be satiated, I failed to realize that I handed you the knife.
Blood pooling at my feet, I still felt grateful you chose me.
I opened my mouth but no words came out and as you lit your final match, I realized I was the art.

Once there was a candle in my hand
with no light
Just a candle

You gave it fire
And made it burn
It created light
A sign of hope
A guide through the night

Now this once burning candle
Begins to fade slowly
In this dark and frightening tunnel

It was not you who blew out the candle
It is certainly not my birthday wish
That I tried to blow out
It was a wind of change -
Time itself is the person
Who tried to put it out

Now I'm here, trying my best
To keep alive the guide through the night

My Beatrice - source of light
Guide through the night
When all hope and love is gone
Will you light the candle for me again?
I lost you in this dark place, my love
In this tunnel of despair

Don't let the candle go out
Thou shalt be the one to fade
May hope and luck be a shield for the fire

Love’s a flame; it burns so bright,
But too much fire steals the night
Too much love clouds your view,
This kind of love isn’t good for you

Love can hold, but love can break,
Leave you drowning in its wake
Too much love pulls you down,
Spins your world, turns it around

Oh, love isn’t always kind,
Takes your heart and steals your mind,
Oh, that love isn’t good for you,
This kind of love will tear you through

Love can lift, but love can fall,
Trap your soul, devour it all,
A little’s sweet; too much can sting,
Love’s a fire with a bitter ring

Love, beware its fire touch—
It burns too bright; it burns too much.
Oh, love isn’t always true
Love, Oh, love can burn through you.

warm fire smile
I taste your heat
you've always been ablaze
and you've never apologized for setting
fire to the house
               (it needed to burn, anyway)
I feel your release
I feel that it's different now
               DO YOU HEAR ME?
               I SAID IT'S DIFFERENT NOW!
I said I wish I could burn like you
but I am water that never stops spilling
               (can fire spill?)
my water grows an algae film when your fire can get you
wherever you want
demanding and tenderizing and
so ******* wild
I adore you in your blaze
I savor your fiery rage
I lick the plate of ashes that remain
