Jack Torrance Jun 2019
These emotional pills,
are too hard to swallow.
I keep forcing them down,
against all my will.
Now I’m choking to death,
and you want to know how I feel?!

Damage upon damage,
that’s covered up with fresh paint.
But the layers are peeling,
showing fresh wounds of feelings,
you may think you’re in love,
but I know that you ain’t.

So don’t get to know me,
because there’s no way you will see,
the person under the mask,
with the hollow, bloodshot eyes.
You may think you can reach me,
but you’ll just set me free,
because it’s just empty air,
where I used to be.

So just do us both a favor,
and keep, your who's, when’s, and why’s.
And I’ll let you imagine,
you didn’t see a disguise.

Her voice was lamenting and sweet,
full of sugar and pomegranate seeds.
Her eyes were dark and bright like the night sky,
could've sworn I seen stars.
She was beautiful in all ways someone can be,
But, she had a soul so dark it smothered all light.
Despite that fact, I was still in love,
The devil was once God's favorite angel—She was the fallen angel from my heaven.

I watched the sun set by your side,
never knowing that your sunset eyes at night are drowning ocean in disguise.

Lewis Carroll,
The numbers were driving him insane.

George Orwell,
His family didn't know yet.

Mark Twain,
His childhood on the rivers.

Even Lord Voldemort,
With a past to disguise.

A pseudonym is a weapon like no other.

Clouds blowing through your smog induced brain,
Sipping on beer while you medicate your pain,
Everybody's gone but you haven't even noticed,
Easy come, easy go, to you its all the same.

A danger to yourself? I'm yet to ascertain,
Talking to a bench while people eye you with disdain,
You have a problem - I'm not telling you to abstain but,
Wake up pal, smell the air and see the sun again.

A simple life is something we all crave,
It gets easier dependant on how you behave,
But you're popping pills making yourself ill on a thoughtless roller coaster,
And lying to yourself saying you're going through a phase.

The world has passed you by in your comatosed state,
You watch, but don't feel for reasons you can't explain,
You want to live life but can't handle your own mind,
So you dumb it back down and fly home to space.

Have fun on your 'travels' while you cement your own fate,
Thanks for giving me this lesson to recommunicate,
You can get dealt a **** hand that foils all your plans,
But essentially your whole life is custom made.

Would you know a poem I wrote
Would you know me from the note
Would you be able to recognise
Or would you be fooled by my  disguise
Would I give the game away
Or incognito would I stay

Courage and strength in the midst of her fear
Disguises her feelings, though she woke up in tears
Uneven, rocky and rough her journey will be
Winding and long her roads are temporarily
She’s confused of the thoughts that even the toughest will tire
That the strongest will be weak and the happiest will cry

She has begun to find doubts on how far she could go
She started to get scared if she would be able to go through
There were minutes of choosing to stop and finally give up
But still she thought of how long did she hold on and how she has battled so tough
Then she thought of how God has led her way and guided her journey
Showing her unshaken smile, she stood up again and began her odyssey.

are we children, or are we spies
in this city of disguise
when heaven calls,
and the wall falls,
who will pass us by?

His heat; my shame,
His infidelity; my blame,
His truth; my lies,
My surrender; his disguise.
A friend of mine read this and thought that the third line was ambiguous. I guess I'm referring to a he-said-she-said scenario in which the male 'other' defends his actions by labelling the female truth as mere fabrication.
