"Thou, I can't tell what I need,
Yet in thy heart, it's already known.
I will whisper, I will resist—
Be my sapphire, I, your metal.
Molded to hold, forged to protect,
For one to be yours,
I am black—
Ever beneath you, unseen but near."

The Poem Explores Longing, Silent Sacrifice, and Emotional Detachment in Modern Relationships.

1. An Emotionless World & Unspoken Longing

The poem highlights the contrast between past depth and modern detachment. "Thou" evokes an era of deeper emotions, while "can't" confirms the present, where people hesitate to express feelings. The speaker longs for love, attention, or care, yet cannot voice it. The beloved already knows this but chooses to ignore it, showing how emotional connections today often lack sincerity.

2. The Ring Metaphor: Love as Silent Support

The speaker compares love to a ring—where sapphire and metal exist together. The beloved is the shining sapphire, rare and precious, while the speaker is the metal, molded to hold and protect it. The metal bends, shapes, and sacrifices its form only to uplift the gemstone, symbolizing selfless devotion and silent endurance.

3. "I Am Black": The Pain of Being Unseen

The phrase "I am black" carries deep meaning. In a ring, the metal beneath the gemstone remains hidden, unseen, and unappreciated, yet it is the foundation that holds everything together. The speaker embraces this role, willing to stay in the shadows, to let their beloved shine brighter. The final line, "Ever beneath you, unseen but near," reinforces this devotion—a love that remains constant, selfless, and unnoticed, existing in darkness so the beloved can glow in the light.
"If we part this time, who knows if we’ll ever meet again—
Maybe in stories that were soon meant to end,
On pages that fate refused to turn.
Like a rose that once blushed in the sun,
Now kissed by the midnight moon—just like my heart,
Still longing for the touch of yesterday."

I want to build a home with you
a place pieced together of words,
passed from you to me.

Eventually, the walls will breathe,
and they, too, will whisper
through our bones.

No matter how old we get,
they will still be there.

Although neither of us will
completely own this home,
what we will own
is how it makes us feel
and the memories we'll soon sit on
like furniture.

A place we'll come to spend
most of our time,
an inner standing
that it will house both of us,
no matter how we choose
to express ourselves.

The first meal we'll have,
I'll season with my smile
so you can taste what I taste
and feel what I feel
when I see you.

Then you'll understand
why I have nothing to hide,
why I open and include you
in different places in my life.

In this home I want to build with you,
there isn't a wind or a force
that could blow it down.

Even if we were to separate,
my hands will still remember
how we built it
brick by brick,

the mortar sealed
with a kiss from your lips

For a moment we’re in perfect harmony.
There is no fear. No worry.
Finding purpose in each other.
Whether the shadows creep through the night.
Or the sun lives out loud during the day.
There is but a moment
Followed by an embrace, then a click.

Unlocking parts of you that I only anticipate.
Though circumstances may vary.
This moment I relive, even away from you.
The way that you sigh, the way that you
Twist and the way that you turn.
No matter where I’ve been.
You tumble then you click for all to hear.

A sigh released into forever.
Echoing down its hallway.
No matter how tight you squeeze.
I am here.
No matter how stubborn you may become.
I am here.
Until the day I no longer exist.

No matter how many hands I may pass through.
I can never replace the way that you hold me.
Our life together
Will blossom like our love and
Grow infinitely

please be careful with me.
my love runs so deep
it could engulf you, consume you whole.
please be careful with me,
my love runs so deep
you could drown.
i’m still learning to keep my head above the waters

I build myself but
She hands me the tools
with hard worked hands
of a sensual warrior.
She does not abuse them
But plucks strings harmoniously
to cast a spell
of peace and tranquillity
She; the apple
catches my eye
In the midst of a storm
and steadies me
Her eloquence a spirit
that guides me gently
back down to Earth
Where her tender chest
absorbs me in sweetness as
I mould into she
who nurtures my soul
With intimacy
My heart speaking it's truth for the only woman I'll ever see. My love for her, so deep I didn't believe in its existence. She helps me grow and I am truly lucky <3.

The ocean water is full of course salt
when the water land in my mouth
i can feel the harsh words flushing in my mouth
while me tongue struggles to breathe
she is a friend to many
an enemy to others
i love her a lot
and i seem to not be able to let go of her
though the salt annoys my tongue
i still will swim in the ocean
because deep down i still love her

Love is the rain,
and it's the shade.
Love is the colour,
and it's the fade.
Love is the dark,
and it's the light.
Love is the peace,
and it's the fight.
Love is the lost,
and it's the path.
Love is the joy,
and it's the wrath.
Love is the *****,
and it's the pure.
Love is the pain,
and it's the only cure

I could never love you,

the way people think I can

I love you in many ways,

complex ways, simple ways, hard ways

but never the way people think I can.

I love you as much as the universe loves her stars,

I love you as much as the rain hitting your bare skin.

but never in the way people think I can.

They think I can only love someone

lightly, softly, friendly, platonically

I love you as Alexander the Great loved Hephaestion.

Secretly, deeply, intensely.
This was originally supposed to be a haiku, now, i think it's a free verse but, to my knowledge i can't remember the correct term.
This poem is about a love that is secret and of the same gender, that is all I will explaok
