With heavy heart I watch my girl
Grow up before my eyes
Daddy dates and ice cream cones
Just can't compete with life

But every now and then I see
Her love for Dad's not just a memory
And I'm filled with hope that my little girl
Will give me one more twirl

With a butterfly kiss and a tuck into bed
She was always so carefree
Now school or boys or friends or work
Take her mind to other things

But I'll hold out hope that through life's ups and downs
Dad's love will touch her soul
And if it makes her feel just a little better
She'll give me one more twirl

We may never dance on a real dance floor
Or we might when she becomes a wife
But I'll dance with her in my heart every day
On the dance floor we call life

And I know the time is coming
When that last dance won't be mine
When the man of her dreams sweeps her off her feet
With the love of another kind

But I'll harbor hope that even then
The love of this dad for his girl
Will make her want--every now and then--
To give me just one more twirl
To all four of my girls.

Not often enough do I tell you
How much you mean to me
Not often enough do I show you
How your love has sat me free ...

"Happy Father's Day."
They all say.

Celebrate your fathers, and step-fathers.
But what if you don't have one?
What do we do then? There is no one.

Then what if you have a wretched one?
People tell you that they are your only father.
They tell you that if you don't show them compassion,
You're going to burn to ash.

Not everyone has their "first hero"
Because some people are without a hero.

Everywhere I go Fathers day is in our voice
Today is the day we see our fathers by choice
Where is my dad?
Why has he gone?
What gave him the okay to inflict such wrong?
His voice still beats me into the ground
Every memory of when he was around
He lied to us betraying me and my brother
Making us believe in blaming our mother
Even hearing his name makes me see red
To me he is forever dead
It has been years since I've seen him and I'm preparing for many more
His relationship with me he will never restore
I want you to enjoy your fathers on this day
Be happy they choose to stay.

You are the reason I am so strong,
Why I can withstand any storm.
You taught me at a young age how to love life and adore it all,
The ups, the downs, the heartaches, even the rock bottom falls.

I remember being young and with you on the bridge of San Francisco.
It was freezing, foggy, felt like it was below zero.
But when you held me up to see the world At that moment I knew
You were going to be the only man who could ever pick me up at the moments I needed it most.
My greatest hero, would be you.

You are everything I could have asked for in a dad and more.
God knew you would be the only one who could handle me.
But I'm not sure if you even knew what you were in for.

I look up to you and I'll follow you until the end,
Like the moon guides the tides, As long as you're in my life I know I'll always have a bestfriend.

You have molded my mind and soul
And for that I will be forever grateful.
You are more than a father to me,
*You are everything I've ever wanted to be.

We may bump heads a lot
We may not always agree
But whether we're on the same page or not
There's something I want to set free.
You may be short tempered
You may always get mad
There's great memories to remember
Whether good or bad.
You're my dad and my role model
I strive to be half the man you are
From the days when you fed me my bottle
To today when we've both come so far.
You're the best dad that I could've asked for
Even though it may not always show
I'm eternally grateful and therefore
I wrote you this just to let you know.
It's the 20th time we're together
And I'm blessed to have lived one more year
You're the only person who can fill me with anger
And then make me smile from ear to ear.
So on this day that belongs to all fathers
There one thing that I just wanna say
I love you for all that you've done
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Wrote this for my pops on Father's Day a year ago.

Dear dad,
I feel so mad
Whenever I ever hear the word dad
It's like I've been stabbed

Dear dad,
My backbone has been peeled away from my skin
Where the **** have you been?
Without my back I've collapsed into a corner,
you've become a foreigner.

Dear dad,
'My rock'
More like a useless chalk
Crumbling in my hands
If I dared to understand.

Dear dad,
We may be            apart
But you don't even try
Why?
I can't stand our goodbyes.
A knot of words lingers in my throat
Scratching and crawling on my tongue to come afloat.
I don't visit often because every time I leave my chest breaks away,
Why don't you even try to meet me halfway?

Dear dad,
Slipping through my fingers
Into your ashtray
We have truly moved too far away
Even if I lived next to you, in the same ******* house, we are too far

Dear dad,
Lift your cigar
Cover in ashes, the star.
He has forever left an ashy scar.
Happy Father's Day dad.
