Under the velveteen red moon
I shall come a knocking,
Raising you from your slumber
Of dreamless sleep,
To cast your eye over your earthly deeds.
Will there be moments of wonder and awe?
Love, comfort and joy?
Or regrets and self-loathing?

You only have one chance at this game called life,
So throw the dice,
And make of it what you will,
No matter what life throws you.

But I beseech you to play the winner,
Not the victim,
Be your own warrior to the end,
Courage and compassion
Your soulmates,
And love, your sword.

it takes courage to step out the door;
to pick your battles,
when there’s nothing left fighting for.

We are seedlings,
Needing a little nudge to the earth
Where precipitation is rife
For newfound birth.
Not choking in a bag, deprived of life
Whilst the storm can shine our worth.
The poem is a metaphorical exploration of growth and resilience. Seedlings, symbolizing potential, need nourishment and challenges to thrive. The storm, representing adversity, can spark transformation and strength, allowing the seedlings to flourish and reach their full potential.

Into darkness carry fire
when all seems grim, and bleak, and dire,
When shadows loom and hope retreats,
Let not your spirit know defeat,

Through the night, when fears conspire,
Let your heart be a burning pyre,
With every step in the abyss,
Hold fast to dreams, onwards persist,

In storms of sorrow, in waves of pain,
Tend your flame through wind and rain,
When in the dark and facing foes,
Be the light, the torch, the glow,

Though the world may tear and tire,
Keep your spirit ever higher,
Against the tide and through the mire,
Into darkness carry fire.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Love shouldn't feel like shattered glass,
Or tears that flow as moments pass.
I learnt that caring wasnt enough,
When gentle hearts are treated rough.

The door closes softly as I depart,
A final goodbye, a new fresh start.
Though leaving breaks me piece by piece,
Staying would steal my inner peace.

Sometimes love means walking away,
Despite the price we have to pay.
For in the end, I've come to see,
The greatest love is setting myself free.

no, i am not myself without bearing my fears
upon leaving my skin and bones bare
to blister in the open, poisonous air.

no, i am not myself without bearing my scars
with which i have been gradually burned with when people caressed my brittle bones and twisted spine

truly, i am without my flaws,
yet i admire their rawness and boldness; that i have started to wear these fears and scars
as if they are a **** warrior's armor.

truly, the love i have met is bitter;
and i find myself devoid of such desire

but can you love me despite loving all that i am and will never be?

in other words...

can you love me through the chaos that sometimes defines me?
can you wrap your warmth around my flawed edges and still love me?

all upon the knowledge that..

i will be wearing my armor;
my scars will be well dressed;
and if you attempt to burn me, I will show no fear.

Jesus calls out to us: "Come to Me"
And, filled with faith, we walk upon the sea
With our eyes upon the master, we rise above
And we walk to him with hearts full of love

But then we look down and see just where we are
We falter and start to sink after we came so far
We reach out for Jesus to save us again
We lost our focus and what happened then?

We have all been prodigal
We have all been dead in our sin
We have all denied the Father
And wanted our own life to begin

We have chased things that leave us empty
We have consumed things that do not satisfy
We have searched for love in all the wrong places
We hit rock bottom, ready to break down and cry

We are in the land of loss and suffering
We brought this upon ourselves
Wandering in the barren lands
Chained up in our own personal hells

Eventually we come to our senses
We see the price that our actions cost
We come crawling back to our home
But we are back; we are no longer lost

We are filled with sorrow and remorse
But the past is in the past; right now, we celebrate
"Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet
The finest wine put in his cup and meat upon his plate"

Today, all of Heaven rejoices with a grand feast
Light and life arise like the morning sun in the east
There is now much laughter and music and dance
The colors are more vivid, and my senses enhanced

We will come from suffering to celebration
We will come to a more perfect relation
We will know the true joy of Easter morn
Because, from out of suffering, we have been borne

Lord, thank you for your saving grace and for calling us to yourself. We are called to rise above the trials and storms of life, and we can when we keep our eyes fixed on you. But we lose focus Lord, we doubt, and we are pulled under. Save us Lord and give us the courage to step out on the water and go where you call us. We also pray that you would see us through the suffering to celebrate with you again. Help us be mindful of our sins and soften our hearts to be remorseful and repentant so we may rise with you in your resurrection. Amen.

We will close with these words:
"There's no one more thankful to sit at the table than the one who best remembers hunger's pain. And no heart loves greater than the one that is able to recall the time when all it knew was shame". --Steven Curtis Chapman "Remember Your Chains"
