Winter muffles whys—builds camps
to cover lies, and sing, and pray,
and rank-and-file amazement
underneath the grave. For whom? For hymns
to cheer the worker tasked with robbing
coffins—refund for the nauseous
ever-trope. The price to cope
may mount, but saints will light your way
to greed-bared aisles, and holy phantages
watch you in your motel,
and smile, and gather shells that held
self worth (picked dry—your kids don't need
them anymore). Now deck the wedding:
brides of clever ruse and grooms-to-be
lined up in civic mass, one shotgun
glance away from trumpet's vengeful blast.

Black skin glows
Tough and toxic we are,
The strength of the horse attached to the *** of the earth.

The black head is far from light, he said.
The squirrel hole you should probe
Our hunchback distinct theirs,
Which pushes us back to our root, again and again.

Our affliction is born before the sun,
Even from the footage of the ancestors it lies
The mastermind of the rancorous vultures,
Feasting on a beautiful dream to come; I guilt them not.

Everyone grows a hunchback
The one leading our head in one direction
Then how can our eye see the sky
Or our ear be on the ground.

Who will hear me when I speak truth?
Or see the infant light; untapped
When our families hunchback cries for attention
That draws us far from every step near.
Corruption is the major hunchback we have in Africa

How Many Faces Do People Want To Wear,
How Many Lies Have You Told When You Swear,
How Many People Would Stand Up & Care,
When Dishonesty Is Life Because Society Isn't Fair.

Caught In A Game Where The Rules Keep On Changing,
They Take Up To Strike But Their Moves They're Feigning,
These People Aren't Human But It's Our Souls They're Staining,
These People Aren't People Its People They're Paining.

I Call These Animals Ants 'Cause These People Lack A Soul,
They See Us As Worse While We Make The System Whole,
How Many Must Suffer Before They Reach Their Goal,
Austerity's Dust On Our People Like Coal.

Roll Out With Cuts While You Hoard Away Gold,
The Rich Will Get Richer As It's Always Told,
A Waning Grip On Patience Is What We All Hold,
How Brazen These Monster Our Protests Are Bold.

But Nobody Listens 'Till Blood Covers Streets,
& At That Point We're Faced With Defeat,
No One Will Care Until We Make A Stand,
Strength Is In Numbers We Have The Upper Hand.

You are dropped off at a shady part of town,
neon lights surround you, they are cascading,
you don’t know where to go, you are their clown.
a briefcase in your ****** hand, fascinating
how easy it is to slip and fall, graceful landing its not.

Masterful plans in motion, gearing up for promotion,
Handouts for the lost souls wandering the streets of devotion.
Wage slaves, suit and tie, tight rubber band and an injection.

Your little baggage is ticking, tick-tock.
Run for your life through dirt ridden alleyways,
Closing doors of sanity behind a tight lock,
See the faceless amalgamation of people, life finds a way.
Finds a way, to take your last breath away.

Your lust for carnal pleasures is a weakness,
This blade that cuts the thread of passion is your mistress.
Your body will reject your non-organic heart, don’t stress.

I. The Mermaid

I am six years old,
and I am obsessed with Ariel
from The Little Mermaid--
she is, by far,
my favourite Disney Princess.

I want to be exactly like her--
hair billowing in red swirls
around a heart-shaped face
and eyes so blue they put the very
ocean to shame
(my sister has blue eyes too, you know,
and, to this day, I still envy her,
for her eyes are the loveliest
characteristic of her Beauty--
and believe me, there are many);
purple clam shells vibrant
against porcelain-doll skin
and fully blossomed *******
(in three years from now,
I will begin
to grow *****--
elementary-school style,
over-ripe.
B Cups going on C cups
fated to become D Cups,
plum-sized
in comparison to the
budding mosquito bites of
my fellow classmates.
Barely a child,
womanhood threatens
to sexualize my girlish body
before I truly know
what sexualization is);
fins cutting through the water
gracefully in all their
green, iridescent glory
(little did I know that,
as I grew older,
"cutting" would adopt
a far more sinister meaning
in the context of my life).

But,
despite my admiration for Ariel,
I fail to understand her desire
to abandon her
under-sea rendezvous,
sunken treasures,
oceanic melodies to
"be where the people are."

This lack of approval I foster
exists due to the fact that I am
a firm believer of the magic
the aquatic realm (and Disney)
has to offer.

To this day,
I continue to maintain my stance--
that Ariel had been terribly wrong
in the choices she made--
but I have become cognizant of
different (and better) reasons
to argue my position;
after all,
and as a cartoon crab
had so wisely declared once,
"The human world--
it's a mess."

~an introduction for ignorant newborns~

we live in a society built on lies...
when the hell will we get up and open our eyes?

sitting in the back seat watching time go by...
powerless to the person at the wheel...

when we unplug our monitors,
we unplug our minds.

take your pills,
now go back to sleep...

put on your headphones,
mindless to this rotting world
that perpetually dies.

turn the volume up,
and every time the volume increases,
your ignorance follows suit.

blind yourself in the limelight of cameras,
oh, beloved celebrity.

cover your feelings with makeup, and cleanse yourself of anxiety with your...

medicine.

talk about how “OCD” you are,
as you drive past the mental ward.

—————————————————
~interlude~

mr. president stands before a thousand cameras—

lights flashing,
questions asking.

what will he say?
what will he decide?
or,
will he lie?

he turns his head to one camera.
he smiles and says it’ll be alright.

he turns his head to another.
he frowns and talks about how there should be no more ******.

he looks to a camera in front of him and says,
“we are a free people...”

and i wonder

which broadcast tells the truth?

—————————————————
~ode to the top 1%~

on the top floor,

watch through the eye of god,
as the filthy ants scramble below you.

look through your glass window,
as the man on the other side cleans it.

frown upon him as if he is an insect,
instead of a man.

shuffle your papers,
as you shuffle the choices of who lives and who dies.

posh parties,
and lively celebrations—

as well as child deaths,
and gun violence.

the TV isn’t working—
maybe you can see the agony on their faces through the static.

scoff and walk away—

thirty more people died at the expense of the NRA today.

turn off the light

that those children never had.

—————————————————
~an untimely end to this never ending struggle (conclusion)~

how will it all end for humanity?

will it end by war
or by famine
or by mass-******?

or will it end depending on the mind?

tell yourself it’s fine
with ***** and alcohol.

or tell yourself it’s not because of lack thereof.

but those aren’t the only paths.

you decide your end.

will you get up and make a change before you die?

or will you sit down and close your eyes?

will you help the woman who’s fallen,

or will you act like it didn’t happen?

so many paths one can take.

let us all try our hand

at this sick,
sick

game.

a special thanks to:
hatred,
hope,
dread,
life,
death,
change,
good,
bad,

oh,

and society for being such a pain in the ***.

Broken flesh, infected in dissolute.
We tend to dispute our vision of the world seeing only black and white.
Our eyes decieve us blatantly concealing the harmonic view of a one race with different shades.
Philia filling my heart with philosophies of what love actually is.

Conforming to the emotions of our soul drifting towards carnality.
Seduced by the luring sweet scent that our desires tend to offer often leading to our spirits fatality.

A promise is yet to come. A sacrifice made for us with the Annointed One hanging under inri. We forget our mistakes are not irreversible and He gave us the chance to live with Him for eternity.

Agape. The love so beautiful its tangability pushes us towards Him even when our lifes are resisting. His love being the cure to my absence and His peace being the sustainter of my life...so who am i to barricade you from His real love.
This was written for someone special to me.

Little girl, little girl
So small and pure
Hear my song and bury it near your heart
Pick up your chin and smile
Just to mask your pain
You are different, my child
And so, life for you will never be easy

Little girl, little girl
They say it gets better in time
They're just lies, it's all lies
Burdens grow heavier each time
But you should smile, all the while
Because it's better if they believe
That you're alright

Little girl, little girl
So damaged by this world
No one's ever loved you the way you've loved them
So your smile bears a tear
You will cry, yet no one hears
As you fall into depression

Little girl, little girl
You've learned that lying spares your pain. For the things that no one knows will sooner be washed away.
Just like the ones who have once loved you, they will all just fade away.

Little girl, little girl
Why do you always feel afraid?
The love you had for others, became a numb void within your chest. Perhaps, if you became like them, it would be for the best.

Men being afraid of other men is a joke,
Pretend to have a hard exterior from ****
that they spoke,
You seem to act tougher than the man
you brought with ya' but when he leaves
all those you said will just up and choke,
Men ain't men no more, they just come with a gloat,
For me its not easy to be a black man and
be broke,
Can say it two times , can say it three times,
If I don't get it the first time, its not gon'
work,
Leave my emotions and my feelings and my anguish and my insecurities to put a
troubled man under the dirt,
Manhood comes first,
This is a curse,
Wicked worlds worth,
How many men does it take to lift the earth,

Not intimidated by no man.

Sparkles don't last as long than an life expectancy,
Lashing my threats to my enemies,
I am nothing but holy,
I know I could peel the corruption from my skin, my soul,
A morning like this could take me out
of feeling old,
A good solid feeling from the this I've told,
Some days I feel my words are not enough and so,
Reap what you sow,

And so will they also be sold.
