What is Space?
We don't know.
Here and There.
Distance, the Basic Notion.
Quantified with a Ruler.

What is Time?
We don't know.
Then and Now.
Change, the Basic Notion.
Quantified with a Clock.

What is a Ruler?
A Counter of Repeats of an Unchanging Distance
From Heel to Toe, a Foot
And Length is the Repeat Counts

What is a Clock?
A Counter of Repeats of Constant Change
From Evening to Morning, a Day
And Time is the Repeat Counts

Space and Time
Ruler's and Clock's Measurements
Conceived in Distance and Change
Presented as Length and Time
But Distance and Change remains
Unknown and Unknowable.
We don't know,
We don't know,
Maybe
we'll
never
know.

I tick
Tick
Tick
Like the clock upon your wall
Don’t drown me out
Even if you try
I’ll always be there in your head;
The white rabbit of your mind

Clock? Could you tell me,
if I could reverse time,
what day would I turn back to?

maybe the day I spotted a flower, blooming alone in a field
spacious silence for it to grow
ever so gentle movement in the breeze that spring day

or the day I met you
your smile shining brighter than the crowd
eyes like the rich soil from which you grew
if only you'd learn to
                                      outgrow
                                                      the spaces
                                                                        between us

maybe then clock, I could recall why you left me for the fields of silence

I never leave my wall.
I was watched, but not remembered
Lonely as September.

Sometimes I wish that I would die,
Hoping they'd see, my batt'ry replace,
Just to be touched and show my face.

I see him in your pocket
Another on your wrist.
And now I've been dismissed.

Taking none of the time that's
Displayed upon my face
to glance upon my place.

I have never left my wall
But you don't even care at all
Stop!
The clock will run out.
Tick-stop, toc-stop!
The clock will run out.
Minute-by-minute,
hour-by-hour,
days, weeks, months.
Stop!
The clock will run out.

Every beginning has its ending.
Every ending leading to a
Stop!
The clock
will run
out.

Tick...tick...
tick...tick...tic...k
Stop!
Toc...toc...toc...

Stop!

The clock will run....STOP!

The army of time marches ahead
while the nervous cling to the edges of hope;
wishing to be loved and cared for
in a future of worry;

Hands dance from number to number
while the pretentious feign having hope;
wishing to be loved and cared for
in a future of worry;

A billion clocks update with ease
while the tired let go of hope;
wishing to suffer no more for no longer
within the chasms of darkness;

The winds of change blow forever
while the dispirited admit to losing hope;
wishing to suffer no more for no longer
within the chasms of darkness.
It's been a while, but I'm back and eager to write again

When it came to her
I had a slender grasp
Though unintentional.
When I think about it.
Deep down it was I rearing
a lack of confidence.
Living up our anonymous
expectation.
Though she was around
My arms would always cross up.
I was righteously liberated.
The perfect punctuation
of how I'd run on mentally,
Constantly around & around.
I wasn't embarrassed.
Revealing which part of her made me tick.
I can tell she didn't expect my answer
But with such a slender grasp,
every second spent with her made me tick.
At least for a little while
Perhaps the most un-thought thought.
Where do we place the batteries when they run out
Or will my arms be crossed up forever
Constantly around & around.
I find that time- such a strange & unusual thing.
Brings focus to things outside of all the crazy
ways arms move.
All in a beautiful destructiveness I can't describe.

Nothing hurts more than
waking up to my own Alarms
you always had three
and I had you,
sleeping in my arms

Heaven up
And Heaven down
The moon rises
As the sun falls
Dark clouds fill the sky tonight
Let the rain pour
And let it seep deep into the ground

Give me life
Give me warmth
Give me a map,
To reach your world
I’m growing fast
And I’m growing old
The clock keeps on ticking
And the seasons come and go
Life is a trip
I don’t know who I am anymore
