I think cats have 6 senses
No, make that 7

1. Touch
2. Smell
3. Taste
4. Sight
5. Hearing

6. Emotion
7. Comfort

Yes, I think cats are the best animals
when it comes to intuition like that

They come to you planning nothing more than a mew or two
and when you break
They stay
right by your side
to roll onto their sides and let you touch their tummies
                                            (something they'd normally never do)
to stretch their backs and lovingly swat at your sweaty crying face
                                            (something they'd normally never do)
to careen their necks and allow you to stroke their ears
                                            (something they'd normally never do)
to raise their hinds and beg for you to hold them
                                            (something they'd normally never do)
purring the whole time

Yes, I think cats are the best animals
because unlike dogs, who love too easily and all the time
(something I'm far too familiar with)
their love is reserved
for just the right time
when you need it most

And you know it's genuine
When it's love from a cat.
A little something for my cat who always seems to know when I need to cry and never judges me for it. Plus they don't talk so all the better, something humans don't seem to understand.
"...and with this, a new day begins.."
this speech i have been dreading
the day senior year ends
the day i leave my best friends
and start fresh again

next year we'll splatter
all across the country
only for some of us to meet again
when two of our high school friends wed

my boyfriend and i had to break up today
for i am traveling far far away
he has decided to stay here
in this town which is very dear

thinking these thoughts
water comes to my eyes
an ocean of tears
as i look at my peers

each one bringing up a bittersweet moment
some i will miss
some i will dismis from my mind
only to one day wish again
that i could be a freshman
and repeat it all over again

oh what i would give
senior year, i wish i could relive
highschool wasn't always the best experience for me. There was ups and downs, however senior year really tied everything up with  a bow. i will miss all my friends dearly but cannot wait to begin the next four years of my life in college.

liz
you, crowned
by the heartache
of knowing love
and inability
to move further
than flowering
of feelings &
just for show.

does it pain you,
the fear of less
than you gave, to
make up for lost time
in the hours we
spent sharing playlists
and not ourselves?

knowing i've spent
all the bisous i
had saved in my
shirt pocket for
moments like this
of lust & loss
of connection.
i hate love poems
but it seems that's all i have
these last few weeks.

i love love, but
only if it's authentic,
though i've noticed
that's a rarity in my realm.

“To touch great loneliness
is to be lonely”
or so they think

“Such things rub off in ruin”
so they say

Or does fear think at all?

Avoidance of approval's wince
Reading shadows wrong

as startled, leaping splotches
scatter-flat
Then drool down walls
in wakeful pools
Relief dissolved
in wee-hours black

Missing life at the threat....

As if there were somewhere else to be!

The knowing of it all would be the curse
Except for carving little hopes from realish dreams

Where once the mourning woman felt
the treasured, fearless touch of one
who laid his sorrow 'cross her knees

Forgetting all-- but love

Nothing more to do when all is lost
But watch the birds and buds emerge
by swollen streams

But speak your mind
But wait and see
On my way back home from an evening walk
I noticed ,as I always do
People
And what they do

A little boy with a bag of chips
Brought a smile on my lips
I did smile at him
He smiled back munching on his chips

Barely a few minutes apart
My son's friend riding pillion with his dad
Waved at him and he gestured back

A woman and her son holding hands
Taking an evening walk
The son my age or older than me , ageing mother some illness she had couldn't understand that
Felt blessed that we have people who do care.
Thanked the son in my heart .

Then,
A little girl and her mother , hands held
Walked past me
A feeling , I do relate
From ,
What  I had noticed
A few moments before, which made me a bit sad .

An old friend , a neighbour from yesteryears , she has twin sons .
I remember they were toddlers then .
One of them accompanied her
A handsome young man , Sure, he did not recognise me.

A little chat with my friend
And there , I reached home .
In my hometown
Blessing, I can say
I still have my share
Simultaneously
Curses upon curses
Slowly strip me bare

Beautiful dreams
Mixed in nightmarish themes
We've all met the dark
With the voiceless scream
No one immune
To this dysfunctional maze
No one gets out alive
Of this breath taking play

Oh but from the heart of a child
It was every bit worthwhile!
