I walk these
streets of bones
wherein you lie.

I scour the
broken stones
neath a broken sky.

I lay my
pitiful flowers
with a silent cry.

My broken stone heart
with a feather beat
that has yet to die.

Songbird

You compared yourself to a rainstorm
Your favorite kind of weather
Pouring, overflowing on cool Autumn days
Dripping through the trees leaving pearls on the leaves
And lighting up clouds, seeming daytime within the night
In contrast, you called me a song bird
In late Spring or Summer
In clear blue skies I rise gracefully
My voice carrying on the breeze
You were worried your downpour would ruin my wings
But now, in the middle of the rain
I hear the mockingbird chirping away her many songs
Unafraid of the thunder in the distance
In branches, not worried of their sway
But the wind glides through her feathers, the raindrops cleanse her heart
And she sings on
So I will for you

I see you

I see you
I see that tear burning in the back of your eyes
When you say its okay I do not care
I see the sadness that you carry
When you act strong
I hear the pain in your voice
When you speak to me and say your fine
I see the lonliness at night when you
Hold your pillow so tight
wishing your holding someone tonight
To all the girls out there Tired of being alone
I see you and I love you

I can still feel the love you left me
The warmth on my lips
The touch on my hips
So when i look at myself in the mirror
I find your silhouette
Wrap me up and lock me in
I can see your silhouette
A little curve on that rosy lips
Starts moving and whispering
"I feel you and i want you"
I grin a little and i smile
I'm so excited so i open my eyes
And i only see the curve of my body
My hands tied
Trying to reach something unseen
Something untouched
Something unreal

Beehive Love

This world is a beehive.
Studs and dimes all over.
Mingling and propagating.
Dancing like bees in search of honey.

Mortal men searching for nectar.
Is the sweetness worth it?
If I were to be honest,
I couldn't resist a taste of you either.

I've been exercising my wings.
Dusted off a blazer and a necktie.
Haircut and a smile to complete the look.
Just to cross-pollinate with you my dear.

I must be doing something right.
When everyone tells me how perfect I am.
Then why can't any queen choose me?
I guess I'm just a worker bee.

And now, now it's time
To get over you a second time
And it always takes so long
But if you asked, I'd say I'm fine
It's a lie but one day it'll be true
The only person I can lie to is you
Trust isn't something I can do
Promise I don't lie about important things
The lies I tell are only about my feelings
I know how I feel is insignificant
Whether or not people tell me different
You'll never ask, though, so I'll never lie
This time it's me not saying goodbye

Your Eyes

A soul untainted, in the heart of a man.
Give me a reason to ignite the fire in this passion.
I see it in your eyes.
Your reason is still alive.
You can't seem to figure it out.
The answer lingers deep inside
I still believe in you.
I can't speak the words you want to say.
You need to tell them with confidence.
I see it in your eyes,
what you need to say.
I just need to hear you say it,
In order to get through the day.
