The whisper of a gentle breeze
makes me stand still and feel at ease
The call of a morning bird
music to my ears it may sound absurd
The rays of a setting sun
is when I know my day is done
The beam of the lunar light
is all part of His Heavenly delight
The ever insuring waves from the motion of the sea
and all this He created for little old me
The colossal clouds in the heavens above
this He commands is an act of my love
The whisper, the call, the ray, the beam
it's reality in our earthly dream
The Father speaks in so many ways
you've only got to look to see what He says
This is the wonder that He created
water, land, and mountain tops jagged, and serrated
He is in everything we see
and all this..for you and for me
I’ll trap you inside these lines so maybe then you will always be mine
This poem was inspired by a situation I’m going through. Hope you enjoy. Leave a comment ❤️

Looking back over the last twelve years
Wondering why I am still here
Unsuccessive at living or ending my life

Have there been good times?
I suppose that depends
On your definition of good

Its an anniversary
Reminders of the pain and grief
That I both endured and gave

Looking back
I am more than that
I survived - I have overcome

-elixir-
My soul burns through these eyes
while I seek you out
through this blizzard
of life.
The rain of my soul,
wets my face,
as you dried it
with your winds of light.
I am oblivious
to your presence,
yet you're there.
Amongst the shadows
of my mind,
and blood in my veins.
Made to enliven me,
like an elixir.
Intuitions are the whispers from our soul

Crimson
Skin like alluvial soil:

I remember her vividly,
She was different than the rest.
Her skin like the alluvial soil
glistened in the sun.
Compassionate, kind
Fiery and wild,
She would look at me as if to stare into my soul. She knew I had more inside.

I remember her fondly.
Her skin the color of the earth.
She knew me more than I ever could,
A beauty, unexplained, almost tangible.

And now, she is gone and I am no longer the same.
She left me abruptly.
Pining for her every breath.

Take pride, Black girl, in
Your eyes—keen, ablaze
Thick, comb-breaking hair in puffs

We were meant to be,
Here, in this place, now
Though told we’re others, outside.

                                                                             Take pride, Black boy, in
                                                                    Your smile—wide and bright
                                                                   Long, wiry arms, perfect hugs

                                                                                     We deserve the sky,
                                                                          Clouds, sun, stars and all,
Earthward they pull as we soar.

                                       You’re worthy of life
                                           But guilty at birth
                             Of living while Black—full stop.

                                          The power in you
                                        Cannot be measured
Narrow your life for no one

                                          Quietly screaming,
                                    Under masks and knees
                              Slowly on we trudge forward.
