Hope unfurls –
April’s pennant *****;
rasped by the
spring lizard’s tongue.

I love being with you,
Staring into those big brown eyes.
You don't know the effect they have on me,
The way they lure me in as only you can.
With the slightest touch I melt.
All with the simplicity of a smile.
I feel it imperative that you know.
These moments with you I crave.
Every song heard with you instantly becomes my favorite.
The background that increases intensely,
With my tongue against your neck.
You moan heavily in my ear.
Openly expressing more, more.
It's these moments with you
I savor,
Where thought becomes more than reality.
We connect in ultimate ******, both together you & I.
The tremble of your voice breaks the stare, your eyes gazed deep in mine.

Our bodies crave more.
The contour of your back wrapped tight in my arms.

The contour of silhouettes seen through low-cut eyes.
At the slightest touch your deepest desire screaming more
Cradled fast to sleep,
You in my arms

How funny is it
A simple salt was
Forgotten by my brain

...
Shame falls like petals
Onto your pillow again…
Writhing in anger
Need fills you up from within…

There’s no one to take the blame now
You stumbled your way here somehow.

But Queens rise from ashes
With scars on their hearts.
The fear in you scratches
Doubt tears you apart.
So you put on your armor
Like a diamond Seraphim.
You know they can’t break you…

You were already broken.

Grief comes like a shadow
Filling your footsteps with pain…
Why would they betray you?
They knew you were destined to win…

There’s no one to take your hand now
You tripped at the threshold somehow.

But Queens rise from ashes
When the world falls apart.
Your innocence smashes
Against their frozen hearts.
So you put on your armor
Like a diamond Seraphim.
You know they can’t break you…

You wish they could break through!

But no one can save you…when
You’re already broken.

On the Eastern seaboard,
it’s just as hard to wake from
another dream where you’re drowning
as it is on the West Coast.

Some time, perhaps mid-October,
I swallowed a handful of some
unmarked happy hollow
in a bottle with a child-safety cap
I struggled to negotiate.

I crawled out of my window
to be under the canopy
of the Midwestern sun
to feel the blissful peace of some form of oblivion;

and when I didn’t wake,
when I was devoured by grave worms,
I fed the roots that bore a beautiful dogwood
which blossomed in the springtime.

I couldn't sleep tonight,
I had a song stuck in my mouth. I licked
my lips and let it out slow and low, slurring
the words that only you'd know, a dizzy
resonance in Morse for you,
for whomever,
for nothing.

I must be speaking from the dark.
From the static-muffled space in my mind
where the late-night humming is restless, where
the blurry parts of you throb against
my sinews, 'till  I succumb, let lax
my lips and let you out;

I couldn't sleep tonight,
or any stifled night like this,
You: mulled, heady, sonorant at my tongue.

Me: flushed, spinning,
amplified.

I hope you all receive and understand
What unconditional love is
at least once in your love

The kind of love that powers you
Through anything

The kind of love that protects you
From your worst fears,
perhaps even yourself

The kind of love that teaches you
To love yourself as much as
the other person loves you

The kind of love that follows you
Into the darkest corners and
the deepest abysses

The kind of love
That could never be replaced
Or forgotten

An unconditional love
that makes you truly understand
Love.
For the one person that has taught me to love. I love you.
I spend all of my time
Analyzing this creation we’ve called love.
Why you act in ways
I can’t make sense of, or
Why I continue
To help rid you of your demons
When perhaps you would rather
Let them confuse you and
Consume you
Than chase the things they scare you away from.

In the morning
rolling over
you smell like daisies

sundays are boring
stretching out
super lazy

percolating bitter gold
pouring it into a mug
you make it sweet

wrapping you in my hold
arms gently hug
you make the morning complete
