Ever got lost in the pages of a story, just to find yourself wrestling between reality and a daydream or a nightmare? Slowly, your mind loosens its grip and surrenders to the narractive. Now, the story which was the dream becomes your reality, and reality becomes the nightmare.

I lay in your bed.
I shouldn't have been there.
But still I lay in your bed,
And I found a hair.
Too long to be yours.
Too blonde to be mine.
I'm no longer yours,
But I still wish you were mine.

Through some shiny contraption,
the pasta emerges smooth and flat.
Your arm around your new lover;
flour spread over a counter,
the both of you grinning.
When you look at the picture you can't tell
if you're this version, or the other.
You are a puzzle pieced together by a child
who knows nothing about life.

In a dream you're at the creek
where we saw the bear last summer;
this time he speaks to us and sounds like my grandfather.
Laughter like shaking gravel, morphs into babbling water
careening over boulders.
There's a hole in the creek,
in the sky,
in you,
the breeze makes it sting, like salt on a wound.
You clench your teeth and look into the void.
It is the color of everything you loved and lost.
You want your hands to transform to wings,
but again, you are a child who knows nothing about life.

Last winter, wildflowers grew in the California desert,
they called it a Superbloom, it happens every decade.
Soft petals withered into their own bones before the next moon.
Time erodes canyons from mountains, through the earth,
through flesh, through veins, it's all the same.
Natural disaster doesn't always sound a siren,
sometimes things, silently get worn away.

In Silence and in Darkness
In Grief, Chaos and its likeness
In all the Tears you ever had
Be still and know that I am God.

In your Heartaches and Pains
When you feel your prayers are in Vain
And when your Soul is covered in Mud
Just be still and know that I am God.

In times when you are all Alone
And when you are Far away from Home
When your Spirit is Tempted in Loveless Fad
Be still and know that I am God.

How bitter sweet to be entwined for one last time.
And for one last dance to the song of our united breath.
How bitter sweet to be given one last chance to shine.
Who'd have known a goodbye could be so welcoming?

Everybody we meet in our life

Is for a purspose

That's what am hearing from my childhood

They come like

Love
Hate
Pain
Jealous
Care
Laugh
Tears
Chaos
Death
Heaven
Hell

Unfortunately we cannot tag each and
Everyone into one category

Life is an amalgamation of all
Captured in a spider web of thoughts

I'm glad you took everything that would remind me of you.
Cause I don't want to remember anything we went through.
I don't want to remember your laughter, your face..
Or how you ripped out my heart and left a hole in its place.
I don't want to think about how easily you left.
Or wonder why I am forced to, when you can so easily forget.
I don't want to feel lonely just because you're not around.
I wish I too could quickly find someone else to help me not feel down..
But I haven't and it feels like the world is crushing my chest.
Words can never explain just how much I'm depressed...
How could you hurt some body who loved you so much??
I would have done anything for you! How was that not enough?...
Now it's back to square one.. Alone and in pain, too...
And still... I hope what you did to me... NEVER happens to you...

b for short
America, when will you step outside of yourself?
When will you realize that one-size does not fit all?
I’d say we’ve outgrown our government,
but freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence.
America, the air is too thin up in your tall towers.
Is it time to dismantle?
I’d be happy living in rubble if everyone felt valued.
America, what do I tell your children
when they ask why we’re going to war?
They will ask, as will the fear in their eyes.
America, I have another question,
have you ever been grabbed by the *****?
America, do you think the world
will be able to see past your new orange glow?
Will they see your citizens pining for progress?
Will they laugh or will they cower
at the sight of us tearing each other apart?
America, you are no longer a melting ***.
You are a child holding a sectioned dinner plate,
and the thought of trying something new
fills you with abhorrence.
America, the world is naturally colorful.
The world might see this, but you do not.
America, a locked door and a loaded gun won’t keep
a nuclear missile from stopping by to visit.
You must know that.
America, how will you end?
Will I be there to watch?

America, are you listening?

Today, I went to see my old friend.
Someone who has been by my side sense the beginning.

He has walked with me through the trials in mylife.
He has taught me how to dance on the edge of a knife.

Though, he does not speak -
I still listen.
He does not move.
I still march.
He has no arms.
I still let him in.

His embrace-
is the gift of grace.

He does not have treasures-
that you and I could measure.
He gives you the pleasure of an adventure.

Its hard to believe that its been so long,
But time has made us only strong.

Thank you for showing me how to be free.
Thank you for introducing me to the trees.

For its always been a journey to have a Road for a friend.

"It's not you, it's me.
If I could, you know I'd stay.
We're young,
I'm dumb.
You deserve so much more"
And then you walked out the door.

"Let's give each other space
And then maybe be friends"
But we both already know
how that's going to end.

"Promise you'll be okay,
I know that you will,
It just doesn't seem it today"
You fed me every cliche that you thought I deserved,
But *"I don't love you anymore"
was all that I heard.

Before you, I did not notice much. They say that when you fall in love, nothing and no one else matters. but that’s not true. When you fall in love, everything matters just a little more. Songs now make sense, all of the sudden you yearn for a dozen roses and another coat of mascara now makes a difference. When I fell in love with you, I realized that sidewalks are made for two, that two chair tables outside small coffee shops are meant for dates, and that ice cream tastes better when its shared. The sun, the stars, winter, trees, coffee, Chinese takeout, beer, long car rides, pools, walking, TV shows, funny movies, perfect fitting jeans, new makeup, curled hair, new outfits, and everything in-between, mattered so much more when I fell in love with you. Suddenly, home was no longer my mother’s house Sunday mornings with the smell of pancakes, home was anywhere and everywhere as long as I was with you. What I am trying to say here is that now you’re gone and I’m homesick and I don’t know where home is anymore.

Too this wonderful poet
the audacity to write about love
wears his heart on his sleeve.
Come back when you are sober,
come back when you have mended,
come back with adventurous tales
but come back **** it I need you.
