"Listen
to your own
music," deaf
Beethoven said.

Good advice
and inevitable.

In the end,
you will
hear no other.

Hallelujah
rings only out
of your heart:
sing along alone,
sing out loud
in silence.

Listen to your
private holy voice.

It wants to tell
you something
important.

Do you hear it?

Doesn't she look so becoming
With her red lips
And her red Keds?
Echoed the woman--
Or child--
In the mirror
Who lives neither in
Nor out
But she remembers me still.
She and I sat with you
Scarred our hands
Because we like our tea hot
And drank in solemn bliss.
I miss pouring my parents' money away.
When I was recalling
The summer you taught me how to waltz
I did all I could
To inscribe ciphers where our hearts should be
So now we sit
Trying to break love off the corner of a chocolate bar.
And in our want
We stray not from pallid lips,
Though cold,
For it took weeks to wash you out of my clothes.
I'm writing this for you,
Flower thief. It's funny,
I told myself I'd never
Let it happen again, but I
Can only assume that I'm
The petal that falls once
You've clipped the stem.
Not to worry, my friend.
The breeze is quite beautiful
At such a day's quiet end.

Too Long

My name
It slides from the tongue with ease
So simplistic and overused
Will I ever hear you say it again?
You haven't known me in too long

My eyes
The emerald green orbs
That glisten in the light
Are they still beautiful?
You haven't seen me in too long

My hair*
Those long dark strands that flow
With your insistence of moving it out of the way
Do you still want to see my face?
You haven't answered me in too long

Your name
It seems so contradictory
To the half smile on your face
I wonder if you still feel yourself
I haven't known you in too long

Your eyes
The dull beads that sit steady
Trying to avoid the worried gaze
Only to look right through me anyway
I haven't seen you in too long

Your hair
Short with an angelic glisten
Just the way you hate it
Your curls have been taken away
Like the many other parts of you
I haven't recognized you in too long

**You haven't recognized me in too long
Visually see someone forget you, with no way of stopping it happen.
Here I stand,
I stand all alone.
All that stand against me,
Are dead to the bone.

My home lays in ruins,
Burned to the ground.
The end war victory,
Is nowhere to be found.

The battle is now long gone,
I live to tell the tale.
But the damage is still done,
The widows I hear wail.

Once beautiful lands turned to waste,
The blood has run dry.
Many freinds now lay dead,
As brothers we fought and died.

Now I am all that's left,
A country I have won.
But there is no greats feasts and life to be had,
As it was always sung.

War is mearly destruction,
Suffering and pain.
The price is high, for you shall die,
My warning is as clear as rain.
Takes place in mid evil times.
Two shattered parts of me long for you
One breaks down again and again
servos whirring yet unable to function
Another rages at the audacity
of your accusations, your insecurity
making ridicule of my devotion
Yet another furious at myself
for giving in to the lure of love
for forgetting the inherent risks
for foolishly clinging beyond the point
to which you could stand
The sixth part attempts to reconstruct
clearing debris from broken past-loves
trying, hesitantly, to repair the damage
you created in the surface of my soul

**The seventh part is dead.
It died when you left.
It was buried in the grave i dug
In which you forever sleep.
Once i knew you
I knew everything about you
Your favorite colors, smells,
places you'd hide
points of comforts
And yet here we are
Two strangers, alone in a crowded room
Afraid of even looking at each other
I had hoped this would never have come to pass
That the once well-known grooves
and bumps of your spine
the vast constellation of freckles
scattered across the heaven of your skin
could be alien, unfamiliar,
Shadowed in darkness i am not allowed to banish.

I regret the moment
That i gave in to your smile
If only I'd known that day
That soon, so soon, you'd give that smile
to someone else.
The box is shut
She begs you for a reaction,
to want her to stay,
to promise you'll make an effort.
But the Box is shut.

He asks you to stay,
to accept his love,
and bear his child.
But the Box stays shut.

They break your heart,
when they leave,
because they don't need you.
You open the Box this time.
This heart joins
the broken parts of you
you kept inside.

**Once Again.
The Box is shut.
