a bright moon lights up the room
soft linen comforting curiosity
ethereal melodies navigating forward
eyes recognizing constellations
connections beyond reality
towards everlasting ideas
then once those eyes close
those ideas will light the way

why do I love you?
those beautiful reasons
twinkling together
in the sunlight you bring me
giving it all so much more meaning

a wave takes its form
yet never with pattern
movement maintained
as water continues to exist
generally insignificant
but looking closer,
how beautiful it is anyway

1+1
I wish I could follow
without it leading to dissatisfaction

my excessive traits
leave me feeling left out

and when they're the same
my sum is just not enough

my concerns become toxic
until I can't think any longer

I wish for a balance
while understanding both sides

all in this world of many
whilst I am just one

I want you to tell me why I'm wrong
even though I can't stand it

give me the thick skin
my environment is hoping I'll attain

hopefully, you'll be wrong
and I won't feel any shame

but deep down I know
that I was supposed to anyways

I washed up on unfamiliar land,
after surviving in the ocean
its exotic nature and empty sand
waiting to capture my footprints

possibilities drafted insecurity
is it so wrong to be afraid?
to miss that familiarity
I exchanged for the choices I made

understanding time
I know it'll be a while
but with one foot in front of the other
that familiarity will be found in my smile

a sky with a gradient of blue to grey
it followed red minds
glowing through a burning gaze
eyes pointed at me
and yet I wondered,
why do I see ashes behind you?

once I was engulfed
I still had to be sorry; I couldn't be angry
so you witnessed my tears instead
and yet I wondered,
was it as painful for you?

extinguished to smoke
recovery took seconds
you simply ran beyond me
and yet I wondered,
why was I the only one who still couldn't breathe?
