Wanderlust
Boys are no longer boys
Girls are no longer girls
And that’s okay
There is no reason for the labels
We are just souls trapped in the body’s we were given
Just on a journey looking for our other half
Maybe a boy or a girl
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter
Love is Love

Have you ever
Read Dr. Seuss
To a rap-song beat?
Have you ever
Browsed the Net
Just to want a treat?
Have you ever
Tapped the top
Of a doorway as you went past?
Have you ever
Played a game
And want it to last and last?
Have you ever
Sung the alphabet
In your head to find one letter?
Have you ever
Wrote something over
Because you thought you could do better?
Have you ever
Eaten chicken
On the day of Thanksgiving?
Have you ever
Said something dumb
To find yourself unforgiving?
Have you ever
Taken a bite
Instead of pulling string cheese apart?
Have you ever
Used big words
To make yourself sound smart?
Have you ever
Shaken your head
To get out of being dizzy?
Have you ever
Doodled in class
To make yourself seem busy?
Have you ever
Explained your steps
To a toy so you could fix it?
Have you ever
Read a site
Although it was elicit?
Have you ever
Attempted to write
With the wrong hand?
Have you ever
Went to the beach
And got your swimsuit full of sand?
Have you ever
Used a straw
To drink a glass of water?
Have you ever
Wished it would
Never get any hotter?
Have you ever
Tried to use
A spoon as a mirror?
Have you ever
Actually liked
Chocolate that was bitter?
Have you ever
Tried to boast
About how humble you are?
Have you ever
Looked at the sky
And wished you saw the stars?

All of these are things
That I have, indeed, done.
So I wrote them all out...
I sure had some fun.

How long do I need to wait
To know your answer?

How long do I have to stay
Before you tell me to leave?

Maybe the next day
She’ll steal your laughter.

Just like she steals every good thing.

Hooping to me is bringing everything to the court
Basketball is a passion, not an ordinary sport
I play defense like a soldier, defending his fort
You have to go hard no matter what, if you shooting a lay up or a three
When I'm on the hardwood, I lose my mind and go free
I imagine myself not Eric, but the man who wore the Bull's 23
I won't be in the NBA, but I'll be the backyard Kobe Bryant or The City Park MVP

What are we fighting for?
Abandon your mission.
What you practice is a contradiction.
You fight for peace but to get it you burn down houses.
Then excuse yourselves by laying the dead in roses.

Some of us fight just to fight,
or for freedom, power, money,
but who is right?
We are here together,
so why can’t we STAND together?

We are damaged, but we can be fixed.
Like the bullet holes in your clothing, stitched.

We are all capable of forgiveness, sacrifice, kindness, and love.
 Selflessness, truthfulness, and courage.
Let’s use it to rise above.

The hippies had it right.
To be proud of war, is to have hate in your heart.
 Peace and love.
That’s of what we should be a part.
War what is good for?

never any good

Marie
Is this what they meant
when they told her love was a hurricane?

                     (it destroyed her cities
                      making her a refugee
                      inside of someone else's body)

If so,
she might have done without.

(and she was never any good
at building homes in new places)

Heart

A heart broken into two is a heart that is chipped.
And that type of chip can’t always be fixed.

But a heart that is left as a whole and new, losses its strength.
One side might die the other half will always be with them.

That half can never die because they are so strong.
Once a broken heart always a broken heart.

A broken heart can be fixed but it will never be the same.

Spare me of your parting words
I don’t need another reminder
Of how we didn’t work out
Of how i am like this and you are like that
Of how i want this and you want that
I don’t need another reminder
Of how much of me i gave away
Of how much of you i intake
Of how much of us was left
Walk away, just walk away
And please don’t look back
Because you know I can’t resist
This feeling of reaching out
and wanting to comeback to you
Just walk away, out of my life
I don’t want my last memory of us
     me begging, just this once
love me back like you used to
Walk away, just walk away
Don’t even say goodbye
Please spare me of your parting words
I don’t need a final reminder
Of how much it hurts
Of why you chose to walk away
I don't want my last memory of us to be a goodbye..
