Lily
I remember the evening
that we sat clinging
to paper cups
of coffee gone cold

over secrets spilled and memories told
two bodies cursed
with hearts grown old

behind your eyes
I found new worlds
A winding road stretched out for miles
to a small cafe at the end of the isle

Sweet pastries filled the mouths
of those who sat beside us
and stayed for a while.

How the hours went by,
people just passing through
The descending sun ending
a forever with you.

Lilywhite
there is no where to hide when
under pale moon light

and when rolling in the deep
there are no lies, no falsities

for you can see right through me,
and I through you

like a kitten with a spool of thread
you spark my heart evermore

with your little quirks, and comments,
your opinions, and open ended topics

oh and yet, you're a marvelously beautiful creature,
with your flawless curvatures, and features

you're darling, just darling
all the way around, inside and out

and when laying next to you,
as you run your fingers through my hair

not a single worry bothers my pretty little head,
not a single care

oh, so long as you're there...
An ode to an old muse of mine
You make me want to kick and scream
Because I hate that I love you
and hate you all at the same time
Break the plaster
Shatter the dishes
Destroy the photos
Ensure there is no proof of us here
Because I believe now that love is a lie
A myth to get us all twisted
On reality and illusion
A trick to reel us in
When in truth it is a sin
The amount of destruction
That results from this word
Let’s start from this apartment
Then we’ll investigate the world
Love creates peace
But where does peace exist?
I’ve lost faith and I am petrified
Of what results from this loss of light
I punched a hole through the wall
And saw myself on the other side
A simple reflection
Terrifying when it comes through
Like a mirror
Existing in another dimension
The Misconstrued Sep 2018
People have their own agenda and objective,
And no matter how much of yourself you give,
I've realized people just take and you're left alone by yourself to live.
I guess people are not selfish but we should learn to stop giving so much of our self and be disappointed when no one is there to help you back.

"That night when you kissed me,
I left a poem in your mouth,
and you can hear some of the lines
every time you breathe out."

She Writes
You asked me why I like you
But I didn’t want to tell
Some of my reasons are cheesy...
But here is why I fell

I love the way your lips curve
When I make you smile
It makes me want to pull you close
And kiss you for awhile

I love the way your eyes twinkle
When you talk about things you love
I truely believe
You are a gift from above

I love that you are compassionate
You have such a big heart
That was the first thing I noticed
Right from the start

I love the way it feels
When you hold me tight
I finally feel safe
Like I could sleep through the night

I love that you don’t judge me
For my less than perfect self
That is more attractive
Than any amount of wealth

There are so many more reasons
But I’ll start with just this few
Maybe someday
I’ll give this poem to you

:)
