I long to know what I'm up against,
my competition,
those who will win silver cups
and
accolades

while I sit longingly
and
wait

those whose words will find
the ordered spaces
of a published piece
and
fall in place
as if meant to be.

At the selling table
I exchange dollars
for a glimpse
into their thoughts.

What I see does not
surprise me,
confirming
what I knew already.

Their words caress
the page
and
make it smile.

Their screams slash it
and
make a gaping hole
through which
pour their souls.

Sounding weak
and
foolish,
my own words
echo
in my head.

I want to take them back,
embarrassed
that I ever set them down
and
gave them to be judged.

May all your days be filled with bliss
May nothing ever go amiss
And every time you reminisce
May every memory feel
... like this

I wish I was kissing you,
Instead of missing you.

3,452 holes in the wall.
I've counted all of them.
1,000 times this month.
My eyes closed, but sleep never comes.
So I count the holes in my wall.
Sometimes I listen to cars go by, or birds chirping.
Most times it's them yelling.
About me, or the bills.
Sometimes they even argue about  what to ******* eat.
I hate them both.
I wish they would've killed me instead.
4 more years until I'm free.
Until then...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5...
i wrote this spontaneously but i put a bit more thought into it. as of right now, Tian  is 12. I know in USA (That's where she's living)  it's 18 for the legal age, but I feel like it's too long of  a wait and this is fiction, so 16 it is :)
I don't want to tell the whole poem, but I do want to say that she suffers from insomnia and you'll learn why in the next part of the series :)
Thanks for reading!

The Unknown
You watch white people become millionaires
By spinning a wheel and guessing words
Is that entertaining for you?
Because you don't forget who you are
No matter how many of these people you see
You don't forget who you are
But I do
I forget who I am
In fact, I forget so well
that it's as if I never even knew in the first place
It's like being strapped
into a self-driving car
and you have no idea where it's taking you
Like my life is a wheel of fortune
and misfortune
Spinning around the blue
A nightmare of a permanent romance of my youth.
The physical remain of him,
floating through the same dreams.
We compare strange affinities.
The same, his and mine.
Oh, had you loved me!
I reserved our ruins through dark, tender tree.
We lighted up by the colored inks of memory.
Stars between silhouettes under the sky;
they emitted radiance of their own.
His hand, a dreamy pleasure, coming over in waves of ecstasy.
With a soft, woeful mouth he would relieve the pain,
My darling.
My heart.
Hold in my passion and my senses
as we ache with that haunted spell.
I look back in repetitive scraps, like storms of tissue paper,
whirling in the wake
where frustrated poets end.

I will let the enamel rust
If that's what it takes
To remove
The enamored me
Southboud... The rhythm... Help me continue to count our.

I love you,
I tell her in parenthesis;
Which is to say I didn't tell her that at all.

And that has made all the difference.
